Ecstatic Dream

It was beautiful while it lasted, but it doesn't belong here any more.

I wonder,

If those poems will now be dedicated to her,

If the chords you play

will you sing them to her?

Will you know the name of her favourite chocolate?

Will you know what she's insecure about?

Will you try to console her too?

I was once special,

and the 'was' is what pains.

My heart,

It twists in its own way,

Could that be replaced too?

For once, I thought,

just once,

that maybe,

maybe I'll put on a brave face,

maybe I'll not let this be one of my grave regrets.

I decided,

I'd take my step,

but when I looked back,

you were nowhere to be seen.

It was just another ecstatic dream.
