You, Again

I fear we'd love and go back to strangers.

Your hand on my shoulder,

it burns.

Your protective touch,

so gentle.

The way the letters of my name roll off your tongue,

the most pleasing song to exist.

The thunder in my chest,

the storms in my head

they all die down.

And I realize,

my eyes just witnessed the sight of you.

There I stood,

wondering why my count of beats shot up again.
