A guardian angel. A hero.

Kara Parker had saved an entire plane, including her new parents and family. When she returned to the X-Mansion, all the news broadcasts were talking about her. Every reporter. Every news broadcast was talking about the guardian angel that saved their lives.

"Oh my god!" Kara cheered as she squealed.

Once she made it to her bedroom, she let out all of her excitement about the talk she's received.

When she made it there, Rogue was also there and ran to her friend. "Oh my god! Did you...?"

"Yes!" Kara said, getting excited, and hugged her friend, trying not to touch her bare skin. "I still can't believe I did it!"

"Yeah, a lot of others here can't believe it either," Rogue admitted, looking at her suit. "Where the heck did you even get this suit?"

Kara became giddy, thinking back to the Fortress of Solitude. "My birth mother gave it to me!"

Rogue was shocked to hear that. "Your...mother? Your dead mother?"

"It's a bit hard to explain, but she put her brain inside of a crystal from our home," Kara explains the best she could to her friend. But that only confused her a lot more. "How about I introduce you to her? It'll make sense then."

"Will it?" Rogue was skeptical about that promise.

While Kara was rescuing the plane, Peter was on his way to his aunt May's home. While on the way there, his powers were becoming worse and harder to keep in control.

His head was buzzing, every moment he turned around, he didn't know what the buzzing was leading him to. It was like his head was alerting him of everyone that was around him.

"What the heck?" Peter asked, looking around to see his vision alter. "What is going on?"

Richard and Mary managed to get a private ride to Washington after the crash. But that didn't stop them from getting an earful of words from Fury, regarding their rescuer.

"So, a girl just came swooping in, and out of the many problems in the world, to save the plane that you two just managed to be on?" Fury asked the two of them. "Any idea who she is?"

Knowing that if Fury got word of where to find Kara, he would take her away from them and treat her like an asset, not like a child. Kara was their responsibility. They promised to keep her safe and planned to let her live her own life.

"Nope." Richard immediately answered.

"Never met her before," Mary added on top of her husband's answer.

Fury looked at the two and watched their faces for anything and shrugged it off. "Fine. Get going. You have some kids waiting, last I remember."

"Thank you, Sir," Richard said as he and May quickly made their way out of the office.

But Fury just looked over to Maria Hill, who was standing in silence the entire time. "I want someone keeping their eyes on them. They're not telling us everything."

"Understood, sir." Hill agreed and walked off to get it done.

Richard and Mary walked off through the halls and didn't even speak until they reached the elevators. They wanted to be alone and knew that the entire building was bugged, all except for the elevator. When it arrived, the two of them quickly stepped inside and allowed the doors to close.
