Hawkins, Indiana - Hawkin's Cemetery
third person pov

Steve drove into the cemetery. Max got out of the car and Lucas followed her. They were talking. Max seemed to be getting emotional.

"I'm gonna go see my mom," Y/n started to get out of the car.

"Wait, by yourself?" Steve stopped her.

"Well, yeah."

"No, you're not going by yourself."

"I'll be fine. It's not that far." Y/n said.

"Okay, fine. Yell our name if you need us."

"Will do," Y/n got out of the car and walked along the dirt and grass. She passed many graves before reaching her mom's.

The girl sat down and pulled out the letter from her pocket. "Dear, mom."

She sighed, her eyes filling with tears. "I don't know if you can hear me. I hope you're having fun with grandma up there."

"I wonder sometimes what caused us to end up here. What caused you to end up here. Sometimes, I think about that summer. If I would've stayed home, then maybe you wouldn't have..died."

"But at the same time, if I stayed home.. Hawkins would've went to shit. I haven't really spoken to Will. We wrote letters to each other before spring break started. I haven't written back to him, but I made him a letter too, in case things go wrong." She sniffed. Tears fell down her cheeks.

"I miss you. So much. And I can't even talk about what happened. I can't talk about the mall. I can't talk about.. how I could've saved you with my powers."

Clouds suddenly appeared over Y/n and she looked up. Then she heard a clock chime.

"Y/n..." She heard. "You really think you could've saved her?"

Y/n looked to her left. There was a clock with spiders coming out of it. "Steve..!"

"He can't save you." Vecna's voice echoed.

"Steve!" Y/n shouted. She stood up and walked backwards, away from the clock.

Her back hit something, she turned around and it was another clock.

"You couldn't even save your mother. What makes you think you could save Max?"

"Steve!" The girl shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Look at your friend.." A portal opened up. "You won't be able to help this time."

Y/n saw Max floating over a grave with Steve, Dustin, and Lucas calling her name. "You asshole! Leave her alone! Take me instead!"

"Don't worry. You're next."

Y/n didn't even know who she was talking to. She knew it was Vecna, but he was no where to be seen. Her breathing picked up, she was getting scared.

Suddenly, everything around her went back to normal. Someone grabbed her shoulder from behind her.

Y/n jumped and quickly spinned around. It was Steve.

"What happened to you?" Steve asked her.

"Steve.." Y/n grabbed his face to make sure he was real. "Are you real.."

"Yes. What do you mean? Are you okay?"

Y/n breathed quickly, still shaken up from her vision, and hugged Steve. "Is Max okay..?" She asked.

"Yeah, she's fine. She made it out. We helped her."

Y/n pulled away from the hug with Steve and they walked back to the car. The sun was setting and it was starting to get late.

Y/n saw Max and hugged her. "Are you okay?" Y/n asked her.

"I think so. You?"

Y/n nodded, "I'm fine. I'm glad you're okay."
