Chapter 33: Aftermath
Jayda dragged herself out of bed the next day, Frey roused a little before going back to sleep, Jayda put a robe on, she then went downstairs to bathe in the large communal bathroom. Servants were rushing around doing tasks, Jayda kept out of their way. Once she was in the bathroom, she spent a few minutes scrubbing her body before she moved to one of the waterfall areas, she sat on the floor and just let the hot water rain down on her. while she sat with her eyes closed, she heard others coming in, after a while she opened an eye, Leeanne was laying in another waterfall station while Mia, Cait and Astra soaked in the warm water. Frey stumbled in and glared at her pair for a moment for not waking her, she cleaned herself before she slid into the hot water.
"How long will the others be..." Astra paused as Ink walked in and sat on a bathing station stool. "Ink, this is the bathroom."
"Come on you know how much Ink likes baths," Mia got out of the pool and over to the monster and cleaned it with a gentle soap before Ink stepped into the water and kept to the shallow end of the pool, they floated their head on top of the water and closed their eyes in pleasure as his forepaws kneaded at the water. Before Mia could return the door was pushed open and the Pixie dragon walked in it let out a squeal and went to dive into the water.
"NO!" Cait yelled at the monster making it pause, it tilted its head and let out a chirp, "You wash and then you soak." Cait explained.
"Use this," Jayda tossed a brush to Mia, "You'll slice your hands up if you use your hands." She explained. Mia took a breath and started to scrub the Pixie dragon who squirmed in pleasure more than Ink did. Once it was clean it joined the others in the water slowly and took a spot near Cait in the deeper part of the pool of the water and like Ink it floated it's head on top of the water and closed its eyes in pleasure.
Astra watched the dragon which had obviously just walked into the house, and no one had stopped them, "Our servants deserve a raise," she remarked as she closed her eyes.
"According to them we pay them too much already," Leeanne stated.
"Did anyone else notice they seemed, extra lively this morning?" Jayda asked and got hums in agreement.
"What were you saying before Ink came in?" Mia asked after she surfaced.
"How long will the Misfits be over cooked noodles?" Astra asked.
"Until sometime tomorrow but they are going to be a little out of sorts for a while as they adjust to the rapid level change," Leeanne answered.
"Damn." Frey remarked.
"Hey, they jumped a lot of levels fighting a dragon." Leeanne remarked.
Astra turned to Jayda, "And I bet Jayda is still stuck on 98 percent."
"Actually, I am now 99 percent." Jayda corrected.
The other women started to clap, glad to learn their friend was getting close to finally levelling up. Jayda flipped them all off. After five more minutes in the warm rain Jayda got up. "Come here Ink, I'll dry you." Ink reluctantly left the water. Jayda used her hands to push as much water out of his coat as she could before she used a towel to dry him.
Once Ink was dry Jayda used a brush to right his fur although she knew he would spend a few hours painstakingly using his tongue to get his fur exactly right. The Pixie dragon got out of the water and stood before Jayda, Jayda used a piece of leather to wipe the scales dry, once that was done, she used a scented oil to oil its scales. The dragon started to croon in delight, once she was done, she directed it out, "If you ask Sol and Yuki nicely, they might show you're their best sunbathing spots." She told the dragon who let out a whistle and left the bathroom.
