Howdy peeps:
Despite my old computer conspiring against us all, by forgetting it has an inbuilt wireless modem, and my inability to get it to connect via ethernet, my new computer was quick and easy to set up and I lost nothing because all my work is instantly saved to the cloud (since the blue screen of death incident which lost me 20 pages of story.) Here it is, the latest chapter, on time, thank the gods.
Enjoy, have fun.
Check out the note at the end, might be interesting to the DnD players.
Chapter 34: Still the Aftermath.
Jayda watched as her clan mates put their damaged equipment on the bench the next day, not just weapons but armour and under armour was placed on the work surface. Leeanne even placed the pendant which held her Atlas gloves onto the bench top. The only weapons not to take a beating were Jayda's and Erin's, Jayda's because they were made with stronger materials to begin with, and Erin's was because she always used magic edge and Dragon Claw had recently evolved and eaten decent materials.
Jayda took a deep breath as she looked at all the work she would have to do. Astra placed a hand on her back, "Are you going to be, okay? This is a lot of work."
"Huh, I'm fine, in fact I have been wanting to upgrade our gear ever since I got the Chimerarite, didn't expect to need to do the same with the Misfits but they all need stronger gear now anyways so it's fine." Jayda told her and Astra nodded, after returning from soloing their first S dungeon Jayda had to remake their gear, however it was only a slight upgrade, now they would be using stronger materials for their weapons and gear.
"Seriously our clan leader's nuts." Astra remarked with a grin.
The others grinned but said nothing.
"Jayda, can we get auto equip armour?" Erin asked, it would make their lives so much easier if they didn't have to take time to put their armour on.
"Actually yes," Jayda stated and got a lot of pleased smiles. "Now get out and let me have fun." Everyone started to leave the workshop.
"Should we be concerned?" Frey asked her childhood friend.
"It's Jayda, of course she's going to do something ridiculous, however, we should be happy she didn't get any dragon leather from the Evil to make our armour with." Astra remarked.
"There is no recipe for tanning Ancient Dragon skin according to my mother," Jayda called out over her shoulder as she started to organise the gear in the order, she would replace it.
Astra paused and turned to Jayda, she glared at her friend. "Jayda! We've spoken about this, stop saying shit like that!" she made an ice cube appear near Jayda and pressed it to the back of Jayda's neck causing the woman to jump, she turned and glared at Astra.
"Don't look at me like that, I've been hitting you since I met you to get you to shut up! It hasn't worked so now you're getting ice." Astra told her as she walked off with the rest of the clan.
Jayda turned back to her unlit forge, she took a deep breath and spat out a ball of flames into the thick bed of coals, lighting it. Going back to the bench she divided the work further, Leeanne was going to need Daemon based steel weapons going forward, Sun Steel based was just not strong enough for her, the rest of the War Horses were going to have to upgrade from Hihirokane based to Vibranium, while the Misfits were going to have to upgrade from True Steel based to Hihirokane. She would laminate the main metals with others to create dragon scale weapons but making them stronger was needed. The Chimerarite would help her make superior weapons, in theory she would prefer Vulcurite at least for Leeanne however, Leeanne needed to get to level 20 as a Divine being before handling a weapon made with either Vulcurite or Dragonrite, while all of Jayda's weapons were made with Dragonrite as the forging catalysis instead of magic stones or Chimerarite.
