Violets eye slowly opened, he quickly blinked away his sleepiness. He looked to the right of him and instantly remembered what happened last century.

The creature that he rescued was looking at him, its many eyes following his movements.

"OH SHIT—" Violet practically jumped out of his feathers. "Whoawhoa— Calm down!" The other creature said, its scales raising in a panic.

Both of them stared at each other for a couple of seconds before one of them said something.

"Uhmm... What's your name..?"

"...Vine. What's your name..?"

"...Violet.."

They both sat there in awkward silence (AN: Me when existing near someone irl:) for a moment. Vine took the cloth off of her and gave it back to Violet, "...Thanks for saving me." She said, her scales returning to normal.

"Oh- Your welcome! It's the least I could do!" Violet responded, putting the cloth back inside of his vase.

"...Speaking of which, why did you help me anyways?" Vine lowered all four of her ears, she's been told her entire life about how dangerous it was to interact with anyone outside of her village for any reason.

It didn't make sense to her why another creature would save someone other than itself, it's always been a Creature-Eat-Creature multiverse, right?

"What do you mean? I just saw you in that state and wanted to not let someone die." Violet said, he was acting like that this was a normal reaction to someone in need.

Vine raised one of her ears, maybe he just an exception. Nonetheless, she had better things to worry about than her morals.

"Why is an Avian like you even out here? Shouldn't you be in the cliffs right now?" She asked, it was best to learn more about this possible companion so that she could work with him better and be able to flea or attack him easier.

"One day, I just kinda decided that a life of exploring was better for me than just taking care of my Sisters and Nieces. What about you, Why did you leave your Village?"

Vines body stiffened, she really shouldn't talk about her... Puphood, with this stranger. But she also shouldn't risk making him angry, confrontation is the exact opposite of what she wants right now...

"Well... My Elder allowed me to go and make my own Village, so I'm looking for a mate and some good, unclaimed, land." She technically wasn't lying, but she wasn't telling the truth either.

"Cool! I wish I could make my own Village with a mate!" Good, it seemed like he got the bait.

"Yeah... Maybe you could find one or two, or you could live alone if you'd like." Vine raised all of her ears, she wouldn't mind having some company, preferably in the form of a close friend instead of a mate.

"Yeah! I wonder how each of our individual Villages are doing right now..." Violets eye looked up at the clouds, he could easily see his village doing just fine without him.

He looked at Vine, noticing how she seemed to be looking into the distance, not in a nostalgic way but in a Tired way...

It's best for him to not pry about it, she's probably just getting some homesickness.

Yeah, that's it! Just a pinch of homesickness. He could relate, but he'd be more at home with the wilderness. Violets sure of that.

"Where are you planning to go before you found me anyways?"
