Vine couldn't sleep that century.

Her mind was swarming with scenarios about how anything could go wrong, she and Violet could start a rivalry with an entire village, they both could be taken as prisoners for trespassing, literally anything could happen!

She curled up, who knows how the Elder would respond! Who knows whether or not they would take mercy!

Vine envied how Violet would always look on the bright side of things, she always saw it as an ignorant thing but, she assumed that it was better to sleep ignorant than be awake with knowledge.

Ignorant might be too harsh of a term but, she doesn't know how else to call this overflow of positivity that flows out from the shorter creature...

Violet also couldn't sleep that century.

He was excited about talking to an Elder from another village, especially from another group of villages! Sure, this wasn't an Insectoid Empire like the legends but it also wasn't just an empty clearing!

He stretched his limbs (do just ears and a tail count as limbs??), Who knows how the Elder could respond! Maybe they could let him and Vine live permanently in the village. They could also give them both lots of survival tools.

Violet pitied how Vine would always worry about everything, he always saw it as an overly negative thing, but he assumed that it was easier to sleep with a sureness on everything instead of staying awake thinking about all the good in The Multiverse.

Overly negative might be too harsh but, he doesn't know what else to call this overflow of negativity that flows out from the taller creature...

After a few hours of just sitting in their respective rooms, Vine and Violet finally walked out.

"Good Century..."

"GC!"

They both greeted each other before talking.

"How did you sleep?"

"Like shit."

"Oh, yeah, me too."

Awkward silence then came over the two for a moment until Vine said something.

"Soo... When do we talk to the Elder of this village?" Vine asked, ears raising in confusion. "HMmm... I actually don't know, all I know is that they'll be awake in a moment!"

Just as Violet said that, a loud clicking could be heard from one of the tighter tunnels. One of the Insectoids crawled out of it and told the duo that The Queen was awake and waiting for them.

"Welp, see you there." Vine said to the purple creature next before following the Insectoid to their destination. "Waht— HEY!" Violet quickly followed suit.

The two creatures got to the throne room of The Queen, their red body glowed in the darkness, showing their long, centipede-like body covering the walls, floor and ceiling, the end of it was suspended over a pile of white cloth and gravel.

Their thousands of eyes were watching Vine and Violet, waiting for them to walk into their den.

"Uhm— Hello Elde-"

"Queen."

"Queen. Me and my— ...Companion. Need to talk to you about where we should go for a good home.." Vine was looking to the side as she was speaking, clearly nervous about this whole ordeal.

The Queen put a claw up against their face, thinking deeply about what they're going to say before responding. "You both could go to The Cliffs, especially since your companion is an Avian."

"O-Okay then..." Vine could feel herself dying inside from how nervous she is right now...

"You both could also stay in The Woods-"

"I'd rather fuck myself with a rusted piece of metal instead of living in that place."

The Queen was taken aback by the unprofessional attitude of Vine before continuing her sentence, "You two could also go and dig your own tunnels near ours."

"Can we stay here or get any equipment?!" Violet asked enthusiastically.

"No."

"Aw man..."

I went and used a bit of comedy in this one! I'm not just gonna put the 'Comedy' tag and not make a few jokes. This chap was loosely inspired by the moletar ep of Centaur World! (That shows fucking amazing, go watch it if you haven't already!)
