Lumine awoke with a start, her heart pounding in her chest. She had been having a nightmare, a terrifying vision of the future.
In the dream, she was standing on a cliff, the wind whipping through her hair. Below her, the ocean churned and roiled, its waves crashing against the rocks.
And there, in the midst of the storm, was Childe. He was struggling to stay afloat, his face pale and drawn.
Lumine screamed, her voice echoing through the nightmare. She tried to reach out to Childe, but she couldn't move.
Childe looked up, his eyes filled with fear. He reached out to her, but the waves pulled him away.
Lumine watched helplessly as Childe disappeared beneath the waves. She screamed again, her voice filled with despair.
She woke up with a start, her heart pounding in her chest. She was drenched in sweat, her body trembling.
She looked around, her eyes scanning the room. She was safe, in her bed. It had just been a nightmare.
But the nightmare was so vivid, so real. It felt like it had actually happened.
Lumine sat up in bed, her breath coming in ragged gasps. She tried to shake off the nightmare, but the images were too strong, too persistent.
She reached out and touched Childe's arm, hoping that he would wake up.
Childe stirred, his eyes fluttering open. "What's wrong?" he asked.
Lumine took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "I had a nightmare," she replied. "About you."
Childe pulled her closer, his arms wrapping around her. "It's okay," he said. "It's just a dream."
Lumine nodded, but she couldn't shake the feeling of dread. The nightmare had been so real, so terrifying.
She closed her eyes, trying to push the thoughts out of her mind. But the images were too strong, too persistent.
She reached out and touched Childe's face, her fingers tracing the lines of his jaw. She loved him so much, and she couldn't bear the thought of losing him.
Childe held her tightly, his heart filled with love. He knew that she was scared, and he did everything he could to reassure her.
"I'm here," he said. "I'm not going anywhere."
Lumine nodded, her eyes filled with tears. She knew that Childe would protect her, that he would never leave her side.
As she drifted off to sleep, Lumine couldn't help but feel a sense of peace. She was with Childe, and she knew that everything would be alright.
And as she looked into his eyes, she knew that she was falling more in love with him every day.
A few moments later, Lumine awoke with a start. She felt a warm, heavy weight on her arm. She looked down and saw Childe sleeping soundly, his face buried in her blonde hair.
Lumine smiled. She reached out and gently stroked Childe's hair, her fingers tracing the familiar patterns. He stirred, his eyes fluttering open.
"Morning," he said, his voice groggy.
Lumine smiled. "Morning," she replied. "You were sleeping so soundly."
Childe yawned and stretched. "I must have been exhausted," he said.
Lumine chuckled. "You were," she replied. "You worked so hard yesterday."
Childe smiled. "It was worth it," he said. "We got a lot done."
