That night, Childe found himself restlessly pacing the streets of Liyue. He couldn't stop thinking about Lumine - her captivating smile, her sparkling eyes, the way she had felt in his arms. The connection they shared was undeniable, and he was eager to see her again.
Making up his mind, Childe turned and headed towards the Northland Bank. The bank was mostly deserted at this hour, save for a few late-night clerks. Childe strode up to the counter, his expression determined.
"I need to make a transfer," he said, his voice low but firm. "I'd like to have my region reassigned to Mobile."
The clerk blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting such a request at this time of night. "I... I'll need to speak to my supervisor," he stammered, scurrying off to find the manager.
Childe waited patiently, his fingers tapping against the counter as he contemplated his next move. He knew that transferring his region would allow him the freedom to travel with Lumine, to spend more time by her side. The thought filled him with a giddy excitement.
When the clerk returned, Childe wasted no time in signing the necessary paperwork. As the transfer was processed, he felt a weight lift from his shoulders. Now, nothing would stand in his way of pursuing this budding romance.
With a grateful nod to the clerk, Childe hurried out of the bank and back to the inn where Lumine was staying. Slipping into the lobby, he found a quiet alcove and began composing a letter, his words flowing freely as he poured his heart onto the page.
"My dearest Lumine," he wrote, "I hope this letter finds you well. I know it's late, but I couldn't wait until morning to reach out to you. I have something I need to discuss with you, and I'd like to do so in person, if you're amenable."
He paused, a smile spreading across his face as he continued.
"I've taken the necessary steps to have my region transferred to Mobile, which means I'll be free to travel and spend more time with you. I long to see your face, to hold you in my arms once more. If you're willing, I'd like to meet you at the Wangshu Inn tomorrow. There's something important I need to tell you."
Childe read over the letter one last time, his heart swelling with anticipation. Folding the missive, he made his way back to the inn, determined to ensure it was delivered to Lumine first thing in the morning. With her by his side, he knew that anything was possible.
Childe sat at his desk, drumming his fingers impatiently. He had requested one of his employees, Ying, to come see him, and he was eager for her to arrive. There was an important matter he needed to discuss.
The soft sound of footsteps approaching his office door drew his attention, and Childe straightened in his chair, smoothing a hand over his neatly pressed suit. A moment later, there was a polite knock.
"Come in," Childe called, his voice calm and authoritative.
The door opened, and Ying stepped inside, her expression slightly apprehensive. "You wanted to see me, sir?"
Childe gestured to the chair in front of his desk. "Yes, Ying. Please, have a seat."
Ying did as instructed, perching on the edge of the chair as she waited for Childe to speak. He could sense her unease, and he offered her a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry, Ying. You're not in any trouble," Childe began, leaning forward on his elbows. "I've actually called you here because I have an... unusual request."
Ying's brow furrowed slightly. "What kind of request, sir?"
Childe took a deep breath, realizing this might be a delicate conversation. "I've recently had a change in my personal life, and it's going to require some adjustments to my work responsibilities. I'd like to transfer my region to Mobile, effective immediately."
