- 1 year later -

"Wonwoo, it's the day!" Sungcheol exclaimed in an excited voice over the phone.

It was a Tuesday afternoon and Wonwoo was leaving The Nook after his shift. He was on his way to pick Danbi up from school when Sungcheol called him. It had been three weeks since he heard from his married friends and he was beginning to get a bit concerned.

"Right now?" He asked.

"Yes, Jeonghan just offered me to gather everyone," Sungcheol stated.

"Okay, I'll be there soon." He promised as he hung up.

He pocketed his phone and continued walking. It seemed it was finally the day. He silently cursed himself for walking to work instead of taking the car Mingyu had offered to let him borrow. Now, he had to power walk all the way to Danbi's school. Normally, she was waiting at the playground gate near the main entrance, but today she was with another kid, a boy. She spotted Wonwoo and gave the boy a quick kiss on the cheek before running over to greet him. She gave the same boy a wave before taking Wonwoo's hand. Wonwoo cast a sideways glance toward the child. He knew they needed to be rushing, but he was helping raise Danbi now. He needed to question things and be more involved, as Mingyu had requested.

"So, who was that?" He asked, trying to sound casual.

"Minwoo! He's my friend." She explained. "We were playing house today."

Wonwoo nodded in understanding. That explained the kiss. Mingyu wasn't going to have to kill anyone yet. They came to the end of the street and instead of continuing straight on to the house, Wonwoo took a left. Danbi quickly realized the wrong turn and tugged at Wonwoo's hand.

"Home is that way." She pointed out, as if Wonwoo was the small child.

"I know, but we're seeing Uncle Sungcheol and Uncle Jeonghan today."

She gasped. "Are they sick?"

She was close to the two of them now and had felt their absence just as hard as Wonwoo had. She constantly asked about them and worried if they felt okay. Wonwoo found himself smiling at her kind-hearted nature, which reminded him so much of Mingyu.

"No, they're okay." He reassured her. "They have a surprise for us."

At that, Danbi began bouncing up and down, pulling Wonwoo forward.

"Come on!" She exclaimed. "We have to hurry."

Once they were on a familiar street, Wonwoo took the time to text Mingyu where they were. Once that was sent, Wonwoo let Danbi drag him to see her uncles. After a soft knock on the door, Danbi and Wonwoo entered the house filled with a small happy family. Jeonghan brightened up at the sight of Danbi and urged her to come closer. Wonwoo remembered the first time Danbi and Jeonghan had met. It was after Jeonghan and Sungcheol's honeymoon. Mingyu invited everyone over for a big get-together, wanting to make friends with all of Wonwoo's friends. There, Danbi and Jeonghan quickly bonded, and that led to Jeonghan wanting a child.

After months of paperwork, interviews, and tears, Jeonghan and Sungcheol were finally adoptive parents. Their three weeks of radio silence had been due to the birth mother going into early labor. Jeonghan and Sungcheol spent every day at the hospital, waiting and praying. Now, their son was home and ready to meet everyone.

"Danbi, come meet Sunwoo." Jeonghan said softly as Sungcheol handed him their son.

Danbi stared at the newborn in silent amusement. As Wonwoo marveled at the sight, he felt a pair of arms behind him.

"You finally made it." He said without having to turn around. He knew it was Mingyu.

"I left the company as soon as I heard." He replied.

Wonwoo hummed lowly in reply. "They say good news travels fast."

"So, boy or girl?" Mingyu asked, needing to catch up.

"Boy. His name is Sunwoo."

Mingyu's grip on Wonwoo's waist tightened a bit as he rested his head on his boyfriend's shoulder.

"All of this has me thinking." He started, whispering into Wonwoo's ear.

"I'm not having your child."

Mingyu's hot breath tickled his ear as he chuckled. "I wasn't thinking about that."

"Then, what were you thinking about?"

"The future. I've thought it over and want us to discuss marriage at least. I want to hear your thoughts and opinions on it, but either way, this is for you."

He slipped a silver band on Wonwoo's finger.

"I want to have a future with you, no matter if we get married or not. I just want to be with you." He concluded.

Before Wonwoo could reply, Jeonghan noticed them standing in the doorway and he called them out.

"What are you two lovebirds talking about over there?"

Wonwoo's face turned red while Mingyu remained calm and loosened his grip on Wonwoo's waist.

"Just giving a greeting. Congratulations on your son."

"Thank you."

Danbi held Sunwoo's tiny hand in amazement. "Wow, he's so cute." She whispered.

She turned her head to look at Wonwoo and Mingyu. "Can I have a little brother?" She asked innocently.

Of course, this caused Sungcheol, Jeonghan, and even Mingyu to burst out laughing while Wonwoo turned a million shades red. That, in itself, was a discussion for another day. As they left the house after talking and adoring Sunwoo, they ran into Soonyoung and Jihoon who were entering. After meeting at the wedding, the two had started dating. While Wonwoo was glad they both found someone, he wished it hadn't been each other. If he thought they were bad individually, they were worse together. It seemed he could hardly stand to be in the same room as them these days. Soonyoung seemed eager to meet the baby and gave the trio a rushed greeting as he rushed in the door. As they continued walking down the street, they heard Soonyoung's and Jeonghan's loud voices.

"How are you still so skinny?"

"I didn't give birth dumbass."

Later that night, after Danbi had been tucked into bed, Mingyu and Wonwoo stayed up watching a documentary on sea turtles. Twenty minutes into cuddling and watching, Wonwoo broke the comfortable silence.

"Let's do it." He said suddenly.

Startled, as he was nearly asleep, Mingyu blinked a couple of times, trying to process Wonwoo's words.

"What are we doing?" He asked sleepily.

"Let's get married."

Mingyu sat up and turned the television off. He was wide awake now. "Don't you want to discuss it first?"

Wonwoo nodded. "We'll discuss it, of course, but the result will remain the same. I want to marry you." He reached over and grabbed Mingyu's hand, maintaining eye contact. "I want a future with you and Danbi. I will do whatever it takes to have one. I'm no longer scared of who I am, which is something you've helped me achieve, so let's get married."

Without saying another word, they kissed, as if sealing the deal.
