Sophie woke up early in the morning and immediately knew something was very wrong.
She couldn't breathe. Her nose was refusing to let it happen. Her head pounded with the force of a thousand suns and her throat felt like someone had taken a cheese-grater to it.
She was sick.
She groaned and got out of bed, making her way downstairs to the kitchen.
"Good morning." Sophie jumped and turned to see Chase on a stool at the counter, working from his laptop. Her vision blurred from turning too fast and she felt herself start to sway. Well, that wasn't good.
"Morning," she rasped.
Chase frowned at her. "What's wrong, Bunny?"
"I don't feel good." He immediately hopped off the stool, coming to her side and put a nice cool hand to her forehead. His frowned deepened with worry.
"You're burning up, Sophie," he said.
"I'll be fine. I have school and work today."
"You cannot go to school and work with a fever. You need to go lay down." His voice was stern, sending shivers down her spine. Probably just the fever.
She whined, "I don't want to." He glared down at her and picked her up in one easy swoop. "Chase, put me down."
He ignored her and carried her to the couch. She pouted at him, his movement making the room spin. "Pout all you want, Bunny. You're not going out like this, you need rest." He grabbed a blanket next to her head and tucked her in tight. Her chest warmed at the gesture. Probably also from the fever. She would keep telling herself it was the fever. "I'll go make you some soup. Send an email to your professors and call your boss. Don't even think about moving from that couch."
She frowned as he walked away and did as he said, reaching out to her professors and boss before relaxing into the couch and putting on Lilo and Stitch.
Chase came back a few moments later with a bowl of soup, some juice, and some crackers. He was going to end her.
"Y-You didn't have to do all of that," she said.
He knelt next to her and ran a thumb over her cheek. "I want to take care of you, little one." Her face burned a deep crimson. She couldn't keep blaming the fever.
"Will you stay with me, Chase?", she asked him. She hated being along when she was sick.
He smiled and said, "I only have online classes today. Let me go grab my laptop and I'll come join you." Sophie went to grab the juice. As he walked away, he called over his shoulder, "Sit up, Bunny."
She stuck my tongue out at him and sat up.
Three movies later, Sophie was bored out of her mind.
"Chase," she whined. "I'm bored."
"You're sick, you're not going anywhere."
She pouted and sat up on her knees, leaning her head on the couch and studying the man beside her. His face was scrunched in concentration as he worked on his laptop, his blue eyes illuminated by the screen. It made the gold specks in them brighten like the sun.
"Lay down," he said without even glancing up. She couldn't stop the butterflies from forming in her stomach whenever he was stern with her.
She frowned. "I'm so bored. Play with me."
He looked at her for a moment with darkened eyes and set his laptop to the side. "Come here then." He patted his lap and she flushed with wide eyes. He smirked. "Come on, Bunny. You wanted to be a needy girl, so come sit in my lap."
She shyly made her way over to him and crawled into his lap, facing him. His big hands met her hips and brushed a thumb over the stretch of skin showing on her stomach from her pajama set. Her body jolted with electricity and she looked down at her pajamas in embarrassment. She was wearing fluffy short shorts and a matching crop top, both covered in teddy bears.
"Cute pajamas." He smirked and ran a calloused hand up her thigh. She let out a light whimper and squirmed. He hissed and gripped her hips tight so she couldn't move. "Don't move like that, little one." She frowned and went to move, scared of hurting him, but he stopped her. "Where you going, Bunny?"
"I'm too heavy, I'm hurting you," she whispered.
His face softened and he brought her back onto his lap. "You are not heavy, Soph. I could pick up ten of you."
"But you told me to stop moving."
He sighed and played with a curl in her hair. "Not because you were hurting me."
Before Sophie could inquire more, he pulled her closer and pushed her hips down. She felt something hard poking into her. She flushed bright red. "Do you feel that, Bunny?", he asked. She nodded shyly. He brought his lips to her ear and whispered, "That's what happens when I see something or someone I like. Someone really yummy." He nibbled her ear and her breath caught.
"D-Does it hurt?", she asked.
"Sometimes, but it can also feel really good. For me or for whoever I'm with." He gave a gentle kiss to her ear and then pulled back, looking at her face with the same concentration he had been giving his computer just moments earlier. He studied her carefully as he gripped her hips and slowly grinded her against his lap. She gasped and let out a soft moan that surprised herself. The sound seemed to satisfy whatever his eyes were scanning for. He cupped a large hand against her small cheek and brushed her skin softly. "You're so beautiful, Sophie."
She blushed and tried to push off the compliment. "N-No, I'm n-"
He groaned in frustration and slammed his lips to hers, cutting her off. Her lungs stopped working and the world spun around her. Definitely not the fever. The kiss was soft, but possessive. He claimed her lips as his and flicked his tongue over her bottom lip. She moaned and opened for him. He slipped his tongue inside and explored her mouth. His hand moved to grip her hair tighter, pushing her closer to him, as close as she could get. The little slice of pain was addicting. Every move he made felt like a delicious demand and she obeyed each and every one. When neither of them could go a moment more without oxygen, he hesitantly pulled away and leaned his forehead against hers. They both panted and just looked at each other. What had just happened?
"Fuck, Sophie. Such a good fucking girl." He moved away to look at her, brushing a thumb gently over her cheek. "Was that okay for you? I'm so sorry if it wasn't or if you didn't wa-" She cut him off with a quick, shy kiss. He laughed. "Already learning to shut me up with a kiss." He smirked, but the question still lingered in his eyes.
"It was perfect," she said, cuddling to his chest. He laid his head on top of hers and they laid there in comfortable silence for a while before Chase's body began shaking and tensing up. Sophie moved away from his chest just in time to miss him sneezing. She gave him a sheepish smile.
"My turn to take care of you?"
