Chapter 73

No one was prepared for such unannounced arrival of Crown prince Gemini Vi Aiden. He went straight to the Marchand household rather than the Drukurian Empire's palace. Nonetheless he was granted security assistance from the Drukurian Emperor for his sudden visit.

The Marchand household opens its doors for the said royal guest.

The crown prince waited patiently at the receiving room. Drinking tea as the double doors open once again and closes as the red haired general walks in and bows his head in respect.

Gemini sighs. "No need for formalities. I am too late to send my condolences due to such occurrences that our Empire must work on regarding such tragedy."

Emerald slowly straighten up and looks into Gemini's eyes. "You being here now is deeply appreciated your Highness."

Gemini gave a small smile. "If I could turn back time... I will do whatever it takes for your eyes to shine like it used too... You do not deserve to witness such horrors." Gemini walk towards Emerald and took his right hand and gently squeezed it as he slowly lifts it up and place a kiss on his knuckles.

Emerald brows furrowed as he slowly took his hand back and raise a brow. "Your Highness what do you mean?"

"I admit... I tried to deny and yet no matter how much I tried. I can't stop myself from thinking about you. Forgive me if this may be a burden but you must know... my heart is no longer mine... for some reason it now belongs to you." Gemini sincerely declares his spring of emotions to Emerald.

Emerald was confused and surprised for this turn of events. Emerald steps back and walk towards the cushion couch to take a seat and think things through everything is going out of place. Gemini was worried for Emerald's reaction he follows Emerald and kneels down in front of Emerald as he held Emerald's hands and guided them to either sides of his own cheeks.

"I no longer care if you love Prince Azule. I no longer care why you decided to annulled your engagement. I just want to be yours... lord Marchand..." Gemini is desperate. He needed Emerald to know what he feels.

Emerald shakes his head and took his hands back and placed them on his own lap as he meets Gemini's gaze. "Your Highness... I do want us to keep friendship but beyond that I cannot give-"

"I'll take whatever you can give." Gemini cuts him off.

Emerald sighs as he places his hands on Gemini's shoulders. "This emotions you think you feel are not much more than the person you will meet and truly love... Trust me I am not that person... wait for her a little bit..."

Gemini sighs. "Didn't you hear me say-"

"I heard you. But trust me your Highness." Emerald cuts him off. Emerald stands up from his seat. "Would you like to stay in our humble household or rather the palace, your Highness it's getting late. I'm sure your exhausted from your travels."

Gemini sighs as he took a sit on the couch. He knew he couldn't just push his emotions towards the mourning general. He can wait. He must be patient. He will wait for him. "I'll stay here. I'd like to stay in your guest room rather than staying at the castle full of dragons."

Emerald chuckles. "They don't bite unless provoked, your Highness."

Gemini's flash a brief smile. "Your the only one I truly trust in this Empire-"

Gemini stops from talking as the doors suddenly opens with a red haired, ten year old boy enters along with a golden retriever. Elliott has a smile on his face as he exclaimed cheerily. "Brother! Kale and I helped at the kitchen! Kale and I helped old chef Phillips carry potatoes!-" Elliott cuts himself off realizing there was another presence in the room he curiously looks at the foreign crown prince. "Forgive me, I didn't know we have a visitor."

Crown prince Gemini stands up from his seat and approaches the youngest Marchand. He kneels down and look into his eyes and gave a small smile. "Greetings young lord Marchand, I am Crown prince Gemini Vi Aiden. Pleasure to meet you."

The boy clumsily bows down. "Your Highness, I'm sorry. I interrupted your meeting with my brother-"

Gemini chuckles as he then says. "We we're done discussing important matters. No need for apologies." He place a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Raise your head now, young lord."

The boy did as told yet his eyes avoided the royal. His cheeks red from embarrassment.

"May I have the honor to know this young lord's name?" Gemini asks in interest.

"I am Elliott Harris Marchand. Your Highness." Elliott answers.

Emerald chuckles. "Come here Ellie." The boy nodded and immediately goes to his elder brother's side as the dog follows the youngest in the room. Emerald glances at the crown prince. "Ellie is not good at meeting new faces, his young. I hope you wouldn't find fault in him your Highness."

The crown prince chuckles and stands back up. "No worries." The crown prince can't help but smile to notice how the younger sibling clings to Emerald as if Emerald was its mother. He couldn't help but imagine already what Emerald and his own son would look like if it we're to happen.

Gemini admits he has fallen too deep.

Elliott beams a small smile at the monarch. After hearing the crown prince was not bothered by his reaction earlier. Elliott then speaks up. "Would his Highness stay with us for dinner?"

Gemini nodded his head as he adds. "I hope you wouldn't mind young lord that I'm choosing to stay at your residence for the time being."

Elliott smile turns brighter. "Your Highness you can call me Ellie as well." Elliott suddenly approaches the monarch as his dog follows him behind. "This is Kale." He points at the dog. "Kale is a good boy! He also has a very good sense in people. He didn't bark at you. Your a good person." Elliott remarks in conclusion.

Gemini chuckles and looks at the golden retriever who is wagging its tail. "I'm honored to meet Kale as well Ellie."

Elliott smiles grew wider as he nodded his head.

Elliott glances back at his elder brother. "Brother I'll give his Highness a tour around, wouldn't you mind?"

Emerald was taken a back for this sudden changed. "Ellie-"

"Brother come on I'm a bit bored the past days not leaving the house." Elliott stated truthfully.

Elliott finds it interesting to meet a foreign crown prince which he would make sure to ask things and know more what the world has to offer more outside the Empire as from birth he has not yet cross out the Empire's borders and books wouldn't do justice for knowledge from a person who actually lives outside the Empire walls.

"All right but I'm coming with you." Emerald sighs. Of course he understands Elliott is still a child who will change his perspective that easily.

Gemini kneels down to pet the dog who wags its tail. Oddly Kale is fond at the new visitor. Elliott then says. "Kale likes that, your very smart your Highness."

Gemini chuckles. "Ellie I thought your not good at meeting strangers?"

Elliott nods. "Yes I'm not sure about people's motives. Let's not talk about me." Elliott paused. "I assume your friends with my brother as well to be granted audience?"

Gemini smiles and glances at Emerald. "I can be whatever he wants."
