Their mouths didn't say it, but their faces and eyes showed that they were amazed by the beauty of the town.
Muffin and David were even more excited. Although Sara wasn't as impressed with the view, she was still happy.
Her eyes revealed that she had been here many times and was used to the beautiful scenery. Sara led them to the castle to say hello to the clan boss, Draker.
David
She took us to a large building, which I initially thought was a hotel, but it turned out to be the clan's castle.
The castle was just as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside. Were people giving us strange looks, or was it just me? Children ran up to Sara, taking her with them to play.
The elders gave her blessings and offered fruits and gifts. It seemed like everyone knew her.
As we reached the castle's main door, an old lady, accompanied by some guards, approached with a plate holding a lit lamp. She rotated it clockwise.
I was confused about what was happening, but I heard a whisper in my ear saying, "Don't worry, it's like a welcome ceremony."
Later, we were served delicious food. As soon as we saw it, we started eating ravenously, showing just how hungry we were.
It was already dark outside, so we decided to meet Draker the next day, and Sara promised to show us around the town
. I wanted to ask her about her past with this town and stay a little longer, but I couldn't.
~Next Day
I woke up to some noises coming from outside. The sun hadn't fully risen yet. Curious, I wanted to know what was happening out there.
Sara was still sleeping next door. I got out of bed and noticed Muffin was also awake. We went outside and were shocked to see such strong people practicing.
It was not normal for me. Muffin ran back inside the castle.
A guy approached me and said in a heavy voice, "So you're the one who came with Sara, right? Come with us."
I was dazed, but they led me to a man drenched in sweat, who seemed to have been practicing for a long time. People were practicing with swords, bows and arrows, and a weapon I didn't recognize.
"BOSS, here's the guy who came here with Sara," he said while kneeling to show respect. The man paused, grabbed a towel to wipe the sweat off his face, and glanced at us.
I was also kneeling when he said, "WELCOME TO THE TOWN. I AM DRAKER, THE CLAN'S BOSS. LITTLE ONE, TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF."
Damn, he just talked to me, and I got a shiver down my spine.
The aura in his voice proved why he is the leader.
The whole clan was staring at me, making me feel nervous. I mustered up some courage and decided to respond.
"Um... *sigh* Nice to meet you; I'm David."
"Do you know how to fight?" he asked.
"Actually, I'm new here. It's only been two or three days since I entered this world," I replied.
They started looking at each other and signaling something with their eyes.
"Did you come from another world? This world isn't yours?" he asked.
"No," I replied. "I only know that four to five people have reincarnated here, and it has something to do with their past or history.
I didn't fully understand what they meant." (It is a made-up story as I read in books and series; oh man, I'll be the hero, hahahahha, he thought to himself.)
The sun was now high in the sky. The leader signaled someone, and a guy left and returned with two wooden swords. At first glance, no one could tell they were wooden.
The giant guy handed me one sword and gave the other to Draker, the clan's boss.
"Let's warm up," Draker said. He removed a belt from his waist and took his stance with the sword. I was pretty nervous and excited about what would happen next.
I was practicing my grip on the wooden sword when Draker suddenly attacked me. Before I could react, he clashed his sword with mine, and it fell to the ground.
He told me to pick up the sword again and attack him. I did as he said, but the same thing happened—I lost.
I wondered where my strength had gone. When I fought with Muffin, my actions were so powerful, and now?
We practiced for almost two hours, and I was still struggling. It was all right; I was determined to keep practicing hard.
We were still training when suddenly a young boy came running, shouting, "BOSS, BOSS!" Our attention turned to him, and we stopped. The boy stopped near a clan member, catching his breath. He whispered something in the clan member's ear and then ran off.
The member stepped forward and said, "Boss, the cave is open."
As soon as Draker heard this, he shouted, "Everyone, prepare for the fight!"
Draker asked me to join the fight, saying I might be useful.
After a while, we had breakfast and returned to the practice area.
I was practicing with the sword when Sara approached me.
"Hi, practicing hard?" she asked in her soft, low tone.
"Yes, after all, we are going to fight. It will be fun," I replied.
She laughed and said, "Do you even know who we are going to fight?"
"With the humans of another clan?" I guessed.
"No, idiot," she said, placing her hand on her forehead and laughing. "It's a demon lord."
Hearing this, I screamed internally, "AAAAA DEMONNNNNN LORDDDDDDDD??? WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THIS BEFORE?"
I said, "Okay," to Sara and smiled, and she smiled back.
We were talking when suddenly someone called my name from behind, "DAVID, let's go, little boy, we have to leave right now."
