Seven Years later
"Mommy mommy, look!" A 5-year-old little girl entered the house showing her rainbow sherbet ice cream. "Daddy bought me." The little girl's father also entered the house, following her. "Where did you guys go early in the morning? We should get ready to go." The little girl's mom worried as if they were going to be late. "Relax Hazz, we have more time. And look we are ready." Her husband said kissing her forehead. "That's right. Only mommy is late." The little girl started to shout and jump around the living room. "What's wrong with her, Shua? Did she eat something wrong?" Hayoon asked looking at her daughter. She was happily running all around the house. "If Jia is not like this, that's the problem. You know it well." Both Hayoon and Joshua laughed as they remembered how their daughter always played around. "Okay, now if you are ready let's go." Joshua said. As he started the car, the song 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran was played on the radio. That song made Hayoon go back to years ago.
Six years ago, Joshua confessed to Hayoon, and they started to date officially. After everything happened she understood if she was obsessed with the past, there won't be a future ahead. So she decided to let her heart guide and that decision was never wrong. Joshua wanted to make the confession so special so he chose Hayoon's favourite place with the right timing.
"Hazz, I don't know where to start. But I can't wait any longer. You have been in my mind day and night, and I think I have finally gathered the courage to say that I am head over heels for you. Since the first day I saw you in LA, even when the day I left you there, when I finally found Haeseul here again thinking it was you and when I finally met you here as you, I loved you so much." It was really painful when Shua mentioned Haeseul, but their love story couldn't flow without Haeseul. "Do you remember I told you I would make you my princess of my fairytale?" He brought their last childhood memory here.
"Let's just forget everything bad happened in the past. I am ready to build a future with you, Hazz"
"Will you be my princess?"
He pulls out a small box from his coat pocket and drops down on one knee. Hayoon was surprised but she was waiting for this day to come. She was staring at the ring sparkling inside the box and his shining eyes. His eyes were nervously waiting for her answer. The air between them was charged, feeling the warmth and anticipation lingering between them. Slowly, Hayoon leaned in making the space between them disappear. Their lips meet softly at first, tentative and gentle, like a whispered promise. After a few seconds, they pull away, eyes meeting again, savouring the moment that feels like it was meant to be.
"I think you got the answer," Hayoon said in a low tone as she felt shy after the kiss, and she hid her face between Joshua's arms. He stood up hugging her. He couldn't let her go. He was the happiest person in the world at the moment. But he pulls her away to see her face. Her face was red as a ripe tomato. He took off the diamond ring from the box and placed it on her ring finger. As the ring settles into place, their eyes meet, filled with unspoken words. With that, ocean waves echoed in the background as they were happy to witness the lovely moment of this beautiful couple.
As they were holding hands and losing themselves in each other’s eyes, the first snowflakes began to fall, dusting the sand with a light, white glisten. Both of them looked up at the sky and smiled as they remembered the same thing. "It's first snow." Joshua murmured. The snowflakes settle softly around them, creating a quiet, intimate entourage. Hayoon couldn't be happier than witnessing the blending of the composure of the beach with the magic of the first snow.
"Mommy, mommy! Aunt Areum is calling you." Hayoon got back to sense with her daughter's voice. She looked back to see her face and she was thankful for Joshua for giving this beautiful angel to her. She couldn't stop admiring her daughter every time she saw her daughter's face. "What's on my face mommy?" Little Jia was confused. Not only Jia but even Joshua was so confused with Hayoon acting weird. "You are so beautiful honey, that's why." She patted Jia's face. "How am I not when I am Daddy's daughter." Jia's proud words made Hayoon roll her eyes down. "That's my girl." Joshua said. "Like father Like Daughter. I'm out." Hayoon said and finally answered the call.
After a few minutes, they reached the hotel where Woozi's wedding was held. The last Seventeen members to get married. As the car was stopped they saw other members at the entrance. Jia opened the door and ran towards them. She didn't think twice to jump on his favourite uncle's arm. "Uncle Hannie! I missed you." Jia screamed. "I missed you too darling." Jeonghan said. "I'm going to cry because Jia didn't miss me." Seungkwan said making a crying face. Joshua and Hayoon joined them smiling at them. "I missed you, Uncle Kwannie and everyone." All of them laughed together. Since Jia was the only girl among their kids, everyone showed special care for her. But all of them loved every kid as their own. "Jia, come on, let's go to see Uncle Jihoon." Seungwoo, the 7-year-old son of Scoups and Suhyeon, said. "Yes, I want to meet Uncle Jihoon too." Hoshi's son Hoseong said. "Me too." As Jia said, Jeonghan put down her, and she ran inside with her 7 brothers. Only Scoups, Jeonghan, Mingyu, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Myungho and Jun had kids. Dokyeom and his wife Garam were expecting their kid to be born next February while Vernon and Amy's in next June. All of them were so excited to meet their new kids.
The wedding went so well. As per the last wedding of a Seventeen member, all of them enjoyed the wedding. It was filled with so many surprise performances, videos and speeches. Each member thanked him for being the backbone of the team in their speeches. Even the kids got time to shine at the wedding. After the wedding everyone, the couple had planned to go to Busan with Woozi's parents because his grandparents weren't able to participate in the wedding in Seoul due to their poor health condition. They just wanted to celebrate the wedding with them on the same day. So they decided to hold the after party next week. Mingyu, Aruem and their son Soohwan also joined the Aruem wanted to go back to her home town for a few weeks. So they planned to go to Busan together.
Right after the wedding ends, Joshua drives his car to somewhere that Hayowantsted to go. Jia looked around confusingly without knowing where they were heading. "Where are we going, Daddy?" Jia asked. "There's someone who wants to meet you, honey," Joshua answered looking at Hayoon. After a few minutes of driving out of the city, they arrived at a graveyard.
"Oh my god, it's so big daddy."
"Yes honey, come on let's go." Shua held his daughter's hand on his left hand and offered his right hand to his wife. As she held his hand they went to where they wanted to go.
"What is this called, Daddy?" Jia asked, pointing to the stone in front of her. "This is called a tombstone, honey," Shua answered. "Why does it have Mommy's photo on it?" Little girl asked showing the picture engraved on the tombstone. But none of them answered. Hayoon silently knelt, put the flowers on the grave, and lit the candles. "Come here, honey." Hayoon took her daughter's hand and made her sit down beside her.
"Say hello to your aunt, honey." Joshua also sat down beside his family and held Hayoon's hand. She looked at him with teary eyes and he knew what her eyes said. "My aunt? She exactly looks like mommy." Jia looked at her mom and saw she was crying. The little girl couldn't bear to watch her mom. With tears, so she wiped them off. "Hello aunt h..hae-sue..l Haesuel." She read the name written on the tombstone.
"Is she a bad aunt? What happened to her mommy? Hoseong oppa said bad people die first."
"No, my darling. Angels called her early to heaven because she was the best sister your mommy had." Hayoon answered, looking at her daughter and the picture of her sister. "She was a good friend. The reason I met your mommy again." Shua said hugging his daughter and Hayoon.
"Again? What does that mean?"
"Okay, kiddo! Let's go. That story will be your bedtime story today." Shua carried Jia on his shoulder and ran across the graveyard. Hayoon was looking at them in high spirits.
She knew she was the happiest girl ever in the world. She was rescued by a shining knight in armour when she was a kid, and today, after ages, he became her husband. She saw how people with good intentions make promises, but looking at her husband, she understood people with strong characters keep them. And what she was taught in her lifetime story was the power of love lies in its ability to rewrite destining and free them from the shackles of the past.
