As busy as he is, as hectic as his day has been so far, and will continue to be for the next several hours, Harry still makes an effort to check his phone just as he gets in the car that will take him to the venue. He has Vik, Ethan, the two Cals, his dad, and his younger brother all piled in the back of the small limo with him, Vik loudly encouraging him to get off his phone before Harry even gets the chance to glance at it.

"It's his own damn wedding day, Vik," Freezy interrupts before Harry can even think up a rebuttal, "Let him do whatever the hell he wants."

When Harry then turns his phone back on, he is immediately met with a small influx of notifications from Simon. Five, to be exact. The action instantly puts a cheesy grin on his face, the expression only slightly dimmed by the actual content of said messages from his fiancé. On the one hand, it's cute that Simon is nervous - shows he really cares about this, that the love between them is true and mutual - but on the other hand, it's honestly rather depressing that Simon fears that Harry abandoning him is even an option. To Harry, it's not so much as a passing thought; it's his own nightmare as much as it is Simon's.

Harry sits on it for a moment, letting the texts marinate as he zones in and out of the numerous conversations going on around him. A couple minutes pass, Ethan unsuccessfully trying to draw Harry in to the conversation, and then Harry decides fuck it. He clicks the call button and brings his phone to his ear before he can get the chance to think on the decision for even a second longer.

Calling ... My Boyfriend 🧍...

Ring, ring, ring...

"Hello?"

Simon speaks as soon as he picks up the call, but that means he isn't given the chance to control his voice at all. The greeting clearly gets stuck in his throat, choked out in a frantic combination of anxiety and impatience.

"Simon, hey." The other occupants of the car go silent as soon as Harry speaks, although their voices had immediately decreased in volume once they noticed his phone started ringing. "Just thought I'd call to check in on you. We're not far from the venue, now "

"Okay," Simon's tone is still shaky, his pronunciation of the words slow and careful. "It's no problem. Don't feel rushed or anything, I was just wondering. Everything is fine on our end, by the way. Should all go on as planned."

There is some rustling in the background, a voice getting steadily louder as it converses briefly with Simon, by the sound of it. The person must get pretty close to Simon, as all of a sudden Harry recognises the voice as Tobi's.

"Is that Harry?" Tobi asks, sounding suspicious and displeased. He doesn't give Simon the opportunity to respond before chiding him. "Hang up! I told you not to contact him, it's bad luck. It's nearly eleven, you'll see each other soon. Surely you can hold out until then, man. Come on."
