Crimson races out of Hueville, clutching her bag of medicine. She feels her throat getting dry and her legs tired, but she does not falter. Her only objective now is to get to Careys' cottage and give her the medicine. She knows time is running out and should she fall behind any more...
Crimson: C'mon... C'mon... Please...
Careys' cottage is quite far from Hueville, which is why Crimson was eager to get there quickly. One must cross a massive brown bridge and zip through the Wisteria Woods, a dense woodland populated with wisteria vines that seperates the western exit of Hueville from the countryside. As she runs, Crimson trips over a root and gets sent flying foward, the pill container tossed into the air.
Crimson: NO!
But before it can hit the ground, a girl wearing, you guessed it, wisteria clothes, catches the container and looks over at Crimson with a worried expression.
Wisteria: Huh? O-oh no, are you okay? You're not hurt or anything, right?
Crimson: I-I can't talk right now, Wisteria! Please give me that!
Wisteria fumbles with the bottle and hands it to Crimson.
Wisteria: Here!
Crimson and Wisteria race through the woods together.
Crimson: How's Careys?!
Wisteria: L-last time I saw her, she was fine, but that was yesterday! I'm not so sure she gonna-
Crimson: Don't finish that sentence! Just move it!
Wisteria: O-okay!
The cottage lies at the wood's edge, a tranquil presence contrasted by the vital situation.
Wisteria: There it is! There it is!
Crimson: CAREYS!
With her remaining strength, Crimson launches herself inside the cottage. Wisteria is not far behind as they both rush to Careys' bedroom, finding her sprawled on her bed.
Crimson: Careys! I'm here! I have your medicine! Wistie, get some water!
Wisteria: Oh no, oh no...
Wisteria races out of the room as Crimson notices Careys' condition. Careys' face is extremely pale, and her breathing is barely perceptible. She manages to look over at Crimson and whispers to her, her voice weak.
Careys: {smiles} C-Crim...
Crimson starts to tear up at the sight of her friend.
Crimson: I-I tried to get here as fast as I could, but... th-they wouldn't let me...
Careys shakily reaches out and holds her hand.
Careys: I-I don't care about that... Y-you're here now... D-don't waste tears for me... little wuss...
Crimson chuckles through her tears and lightly taps Careys on the shoulder.
Crimson: Shut up...
Wisteria rushes back into the room with the glass of water in hand.
Wisteria: I have it!
Crimson immediately takes out the bottle and drops two pills into her hand.
Crimson: {to Careys} Take your medicine...
Careys: {sighs} Fine...
Careys struggles to sit up and Crimson has to help her.
Crimson: Wistie, could you...?
Wisteria: Oh boy... I got it... I hope...
Crimson gives the pills to Wisteria as Careys opens her mouth. Wisteria drops the two pills inside and gives Careys some water. Careys gulps it down as she rests against the headboard pillow, looking up at her friends.
Careys: This is better than... d-dying alone...
Crimson: D-don't say that, it's not time yet...
Careys: {to Crimson} Crim... I-I'm done... Th-there's n-not much else to say...
Crimson: Y-yes there is. Don't you dare quit on me, Careys. I'm not leaving you.
Careys reaches out and touches Crimson's hand, looking straight into her eyes.
Careys: I know...

In the deserted city hall, Black's piercing gaze continues to bore into my soul with her vicious eyes. She speaks to Orchid without even looking at her.
Black: Leave us...
Orchid nods and goes to leave the room.
Me: A-actually, you can stay if you want to. The more the merrier, a-as they say...
Orchid gives me a smirk as she leaves the room, closing the door behind her.
Me: Shoot.
Black: Come here, boy...
From Black's person, tendrils composed of shadows emerge and coil around my limbs, slowly restraining me.
Me: Th-this isn't necessary...
Black: Well, you understand I cannot have you running off. I have spent countless hours tracking you down.
She has her shadows around my neck, securing my head in place so I can't even move that.
Me: Wh-what did I even do to you...?
Black walks up to me and clutches my chin, forcing me to look into her eyes.
Black: It's not what you've done that angers me so... It's what you WILL do. You see, the future was meant to be dark. Those residents you side with... they are not fit to live.
Me: H-how can you even say that...?
Black: Because it is the truth. What will become of Hueville when war is waged? You think a fool as bright as Yellow can dodge a bullet? You think Blue can stand her ground AT ALL?
Me: The only threat around here is you villains. You're right, you have all this power... so why not use it to benefit everyone?
Black: The world, no matter which one, is a cruel place, and my existence reflects that.
She squeezes me a bit tighter before letting me go. I collapse to the floor, coughing and spluttering before her.
Me: Y-yeah, living sucks... But it's not like it's all bad... There's always something good to live for...
Black looks down at me with a disapproving glare.
Black: You are wrong, Dominic. I see the world for what it truly is. Not what you WANT it to be. It's a never-ending cycle of violence, greed, and despair. No amount of kindness can change that. The world needs a force to keep it in check. And I am that force.
Me: B-by throwing Hueville's citizens into a realm of darkness...? They have to wake up each morning knowing they might not survive...
Black cackles softly as she circles me, like a panther to a wild boar.
Black: Oh, but isn't it thrilling? Living in a constant state of fear... The thrill of danger is what makes life worth living... while you still have it.
Me: You seem really enthusiastic about this.
Black's hips sway as she slithers back up to her throne.
Black: Why wouldn't I be, morsel? There's nothing quite like the rush of power... The sense of invincibility that comes with it... It is exhilirating, my dear child, to have everyone at your mercy... to control their very LIVES... And I will not let you ruin my fun...
She releases a surge of darkness that is absorbed by my body. My brain is filled with negativity. My face is locked in a state of sadness. I lose the strength to stand and I fall to my knees. I feel tears welling up in my eyes and I am physically unable to stop myself from crying.
Me: Wh-what... have you done to me...?
