Everyone is left stunned with the exclamation Purple made.

But Green is shaken.

Green: I-I... Indigo... {tears up}

Purple sees the hurt on his face, and the others. He takes a deep breath as he realizes what he said.

Purple: Green, I... Please forgive me. That was unfair of me.

Red glares at Purple.

Red: Indigo moved because she had villain trauma! You had NO right to bring that up!

Purple: {sighs} I-I know... I deeply apologize...

He sits down across from them and stares at the ground.

Purple: I suppose I never got over her departure... It was so sudden...

Green: Yes... It was...

Purple looks out his window at the chaotic skyline behind him.

Purple: You are welcome to stay here for as long as you like. {chuckles slightly} And perhaps during that time, I may convince you I'm not the bastard you think I am.

Red: {scoffs} I doubt it...

Green: {nudges her} Thank you very much, Purple. We appreciate your hospitality.

Purple: It's no trouble at all. Now may I indulge you in any refreshments? Snacks, drinks?

Orange: I'll take some turpentine if you have any.

Green: N-no, you will not!

Orange: Green, don't deprive me of my joys!

Green: You're not old enough for turpentine! How many times do I have to tell you?

As they're fighting, Red rolls her eyes as she gets up and explores the penthouse. Purple feels more relaxed now that they discussed their feelings. He wants his friends to know that he still cares about them, even if he can't always be there.

Yellow: AHHHHHHH!!!!

Purple hears Yellow screaming at the top of her lungs and races into the jacuzzi room. Yellow's eyes twinkle with excitement as she opens the secret cooler compartment. She looks up at Purple with a huge smile.

Yellow: I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Pink walks up to Purple, with Blue hiding behind her.

Pink: Um... Blue wanted to know if we could use your jacuzzi.

Blue: Mm...

Purple: {chuckles} Of course you may. The video games are in the top cabinet and the towels are in the bottom one.

Yellow: Video games?! We can play video games in a hot tub! My life has been complete! Well, not really, since I really want to go to the zoo, but Green says it's far, and Red's scared of the gorillas.

Red: {from the hallway} I AM NOT!

Yellow: {laughs} She's afraid they're gonna throw crap at her!

Red: I WILL DROWN YOU IN THIS JACUZZI!

Red tackles into Yellow, sending them both in the jacuzzi.

{SPLOOSH!}

Orange and Green race into the hot tub room with mixed reactions.

Orange: LET'S GO!

Green: RED! THIS ISN'T OUR HOUSE!

Pink and Blue watch from the side.

Pink: Ugh, I can't go anywhere with these idiots...

Blue: I-I don't think I wanna go in the hot tub anymore...

All the while, Purple can't stop laughing. He missed this so much.

{WOOSH}

White brings me into another section of his dimension-room place, and it is as blank as the previous room, all except for a white table in the center.

Me: I assume you've brought me here for a reason.

White: Of course, dear friend. It has taken me years to perfect, but I am sure you will be pleased with my creation.

Me: Creation? You really ARE a god, huh?

White: {chuckles} Not that type of creation, Dominic. More so, an invention.

Me: Regardless, I'm sure I'll be blown away.

White and I walk up to the table, and on that table is a tablet, however this is unlike any I've ever seen.

For one, the tablet is a circle, as opposed to the rectangular ones I'm used to.

Two, the screen has a rainbow border around it with the center being pure white.

I am speechless by the craftsmanship this device is portraying. White is amused by my shock.

White: I see you have never encountered technology this advanced.

Me: Never. I mean, we have tablets of our own, but none like this.

White: I have conducted several prototypes, but after much trial and error, I have perfected the future of Colortopia.

Me: How? What is this thing supposed to do?

White picks up the device and it seems to glow in his hand.

White: Dominic, meet the Chromanet. A creation of both circuitry...

He THROWS the device like a disk and it bounces off a wall, rocketing back into his hand. The disk is without a scratch.

White: ...and resilience.

Me: White, that's incredible! It seems so unreal! I mean, if I threw one of my Earth tablets like that, there'd be shards everywhere!

White: I am glad you approve.

Me: Um, could I hold it? I feel like I have to.

White: Of course.

He gives me the Chromanet and the second it touches my skin, I feel my body pumping with energy.

Me: Whoa! What's this?! I feel like I can run for miles, and I've NEVER said that sentence before!

White:
{chuckles} My, my, Dominic. It seems you have woken up.

Me: You're not kidding! Hahahahahaha! Oh, I don't have an ounce of negativity in my body! Is that the power of the Chromanet?

White: It is. This device emanates so much raw power that it illuminates anyone who touches it.

Me: That explains why you're so happy all the time.

White: {shrugs} Well, I am eternally positive, so...

Me: Wait, so you're always optimistic, no matter what?

White: That is my role in this universe, to be the light to Black's darkness.

Me: Well, with the way Hueville is now, we could USE some more light.

White points to the Chromanet and I immediately gasp.

Me: Ohhhhhhhhhhh! That makes so much sense! And... it doesn't.

White nods in understanding as he walks to an empty wall and sticks out his palm. On the wall appears a whiteboard and a black marker appears in his hand. With it, he writes the word: POTENTIAL.

Me: Potential...

White: Yes, potential.

White: An important subject in Colortopian history. You may have noticed that Black's villains are equipped with supernatural abilities that make them "superior" to others.

Me: {sighs} Yeah, it's not fair how only the bad guys have powers.

White: But what if I were to tell you it wasn't always like that?

NOW he's got my attention.

Me: Really?!

He begins to write as he speaks.

White: Generations ago, EVERYONE had these abilites.

:O

Me: Are you SERIOUS?!

White: Yes, any individual could harness the celestial powers of the supernatural. And it may come as a shock to you, but they were never used for personal power. But to defend one another.

He draws a shield.

Me: Everyone had powers, but they never tried to kill each other because of it. Doesn't sound like MY planet.

White: Well, back then, we faced constant war from an outside force who wanted to leech our power, and while it was rich, it was NOT infinite. But this force did not understand. All it wanted was to take.

Me: I'm sorry you had to deal with that. This force must have been quite powerful.

White: Dominic... They succeeded.

.

Me: Wh-what...?

----

White: They wiped all the color from the world... and the memories of those affected. You see, Black and I are NOT true colors like Red or Magenta, but rather the ABSENCE of colors. Because of this, we kept our memories... but Black saw this as an opportunity, despite my pleas.

Me: I think I know where you're going with this...

White: Gradually, Colortopia restored its vibrant hues. But everyone's memories were still wiped. So Black used this to cast certain Colortopians under her belt. She told them of the powers they had, filling their heads with sinful desires.

Me: Wow... White, this is a lot to take in. But I understand. Black turned some Colortopians to the dark side. So it's up to us to bring them to the light.

White: {nods} Of course, which is why I have you as my apprentice.

Me: APPRENTICE?

White: {chuckles} I have always wondered what it would be like to train someone under my wing. You may be the perfect fit.

Me: O-of course! I'd love to be trained under you!

White: You are aware, then, that what I am asking of you is not easy.

Me: Obviously not, but you wouldn't have brought me here if you knew I couldn't handle it.

White: Indeed. This task requires extreme dedication. Once you accept this, there is no going back.

I take a deep breath and nod.

Me: I understand.

White: Then press the center of the Chromanet.

I pick up the tablet and press directly in the middle. The device lights up and the screen activates, displaying a blank page.

Me: It's blank.

White: It won't be. Your job, Dominic, will be to travel across Colortopia, helping these poor souls to remember their abilities. The Chromanet shall assist you in this manner.

As White is explaining this to me, I am gushing with a dopey smile on my face.

White: Of course, you will have to deal with some villains along the way.

._.

Me: What?

White: {smiles} Did I forget to mention? Black will do everything in her power to stop you. So I highly recommend maintaining friendships with as many Colortopians as possible.

Me: I'll probably die.

White: You agreed...

Me: {sighs} But I never thought I'd actually engage in combat. {sticks out my arms} Look at these arms.

White: I understand your concern. But your diversity makes it impossible for Black to control you. You are my only hope.

Doh... Why does he have to say it like that...?

Me: ...okay...

White: {smiles} Don't worry. I know this is a lot to ingest, so we can take this one step at a time.

Me: That would be preferable.

White: Well, let us start by testing the accuracy of this Chromanet, shall we?

White holds his arms out to the side and turns to me.

White: Scan me.

Me: O-oh, we're doing this, okay. Uh... Which button do I press?

White: On the back of the device, there is a lens.

I see the lens.

Me: Okay...

White: Aim the lens at me and press that silver button.

I do as he says and press the silver button. A rainbow-colored beam shoots out of the Chromanet and hits White in the chest. Before my eyes, data appears on the screen. Data about White.

It shows his name, a full-body image of him, his hex code, his RGB numbers, and his favorite food.

Me: Marshmallows?

White: {smiles} They are cute, fluffy little treats.

He makes a marshmallow appear out of thin air and eats it.

But as I look back at the screen, my brain rushes with dopamine as I see that there are four buttons on the screen labeled:

----

- Blessing of Purity

- Light Manipulation

- Barriers

- Warp Speed

----

Me: These are your powers?!

White: Indeed they are. Each Colortopian is equipped with a set of four unique abilities.

Me: Well, that explains why you can warp everywhere.

White: Indeed. I find myself using "Warp Speed" quite often. Very convenient. But anyway, we can not choose which abilities we get. They are part of what makes us unique.

Me: So everyone has four... Makes sense. So what now? Do I just go back to Hueville and start scanning everybody?

White: Th-that would be unwise. I think it'd be best if you started with the Colortopians you already know.

Me: {gasps} You're so right! This is perfect! {holds up the Chromanet} The Chromanet and I are going to head to wherever Purple lives, hoping I don't get chased by villains in the process.

White: Or I could just teleport you inside the penthouse.

Me: {shrugs} Yeah, that'd be easier. {deep breath} Okay, White... I know what I'm signing up for... and I could possibly die, but... for the sake of everyone's freedom... I have to do this. Send me back.

White: {smiles} Take care, my apprentice. May the light guide you.

Me: {nods} I won't let you down.

With a flash of white light, he sends me out of the white room and I fall smack dab onto the floor of the penthouse.

{OOF!}

Me: Ow...

I know I've made it when I hear...

Red: WHAT THE FU-?!

----

In the abandoned hall, Black's eyes fly open and she rises from her throne with a mighty gasp.

Black: He is here... He has with him... a new sense of POWER...

She struts out of the throne room and approaches Orchid and Teal.

Black: You two!

The former immediately bows.

Orchid: My queen...

Teal just crosses her arms.

Teal: What's goin' on?

Black: Send your forces to the Purple Palaces at once! The human has returned and is seeking refuge with his wretched colorful allies!

Orchid: {nods} Of course. What is our objective?

Black: Give them HELL.

Orchid and Teal smirk.

Orchid: As you wish. We will leave nothing unscathed. {to Teal} Ready the villains. We strike at noon.

Teal: You can count on me.

As Teal leaves the hall, Black turns to Orchid.

Black: Be careful when you approach them. The boy is not as weak as before.

Orchid: Do not fret, my dark mistress. No matter the cost, he will never see the sun again.

Orchid storms out after Teal, and Black just rolls her eyes.

Black: You absolute dumbass...
