The Start of Something New

I spent the day studying for my exam. I did get messages from my boyfriends when they landed and it made me happy to see that they got to Europe safely. I warned them that I might be less available after my exams because of my practicums. They did ask what practicums, but I was vague and they don’t know I’ve been back into dancing seriously.

It made me proud to have worked through my guilt and trauma to get back into dancing again. I wanted to succeed first before telling them. I was sitting at the library finishing my last study session before my final exams. It was eight in the morning and I had gotten to the library at seven to do a last quick review session. My exam would start at eight-thirty.

Soon, it was time for my exam. I collected all of my things and packed them in my backpack and headed towards the exam hall. I would be here for three of my exams, the last one being my thesis presentation. I wrote my thesis on Korean literature and how it changed from the early writing to the modern day, reflecting how technology and education has truly influenced its evolution.

The exams went quickly and my thesis presentation was a success. I stretched my arms as I left the building.

“Y/N!” I turned to see TaeJun standing just outside with a smile on his face. I hurried over to him and threw my arms around him. The two of us have become very close, I trust him with my life. TaeJun is like the older brother I never had.

“I'm free!” We both laughed and turned to walk towards the car. I looked around once more at the campus I've been going to for the last two years. I will come back from some meetings with my advisor and counselor and to graduate.

In the car, I sent a message to the guys letting them know I was done with my finals and wished them luck on their first concert.

The next day, I woke up bright and early. I took a nice long shower and went to the kitchen to make myself a smoothie and light breakfast. TaeJun accompanied me to HYBE. As we arrived, there was a small crowd.

“TXT is here today,” he explained and I nodded. The driver brought us to the underground parking lot, as we got to the elevator, I checked the email I got from the company.

“I'm to go to reception to check in and then I will be directed where to go,” I showed TaeJun the email and he nodded as we entered the elevator.

At reception, the man there reminded me a little of Hobi, with his energy and constant smile.

“Welcome! Here is the paperwork you need to fill out in order to get your ID,” he said, handing me a clipboard with a small stack of paperwork. I took it and sat down in the lobby seating area. It was a standard employment application. Confused, I completed it and handed it over.

“Are you sure I am to fill out an application?” I asked him as he took it from me.

“Of course, I was given clear instructions that you are here for your practicum.” He assured me before lifting up the phone. A security guard approached and bowed to me.
