"I never got to tell her that I love her." He said last week.

Those ten words have haunted her since it left his mouth. He loved her.

It seems that she has lost focus, especially during work hours. Everything he does distracts her, no matter how little it was. On Monday, just a couple days after he said those three words, he was explaining a situation. It was nothing too serious, but Emily found it so hard to focus. The way his lips touched and parted - it captured her attention.

Now that the team know about their history, it seems that they want them to be together now. "C'mon Em, you guys have great chemistry and you're both hot!" Garcia tried to persuade her.

"I dare you to say it to his face." Emily chuckled.

But again, Emily couldn't help but wonder: what would it be like if they dated? Now that they're both adults, there's no limit. No 'mother' is going to tell them to break up..

But on another hand, if he chose his career over Haley, what's to stop him from doing the same to her? It can't happen. She's made up her mind.

Now, Prentiss sees everything differently. Her eyes are seeing things more clearly. That being said, she doesn't know how to behave around him.

It's awkward. There's tension.

Just the other day, Hotch, Rossi and Emily went out to lunch together. Hotch offered to pay but Emily refused. Though it's fine to want to pay for your own meal, they way she said it was peculiar.

"Don't worry Prentiss, I got it."

"It's okay Hotch, wouldn't want to burden you."

'Burden'? Like he said before, he told Emily his reasons the day they met at a seminar. She took it quite well then, but why is it affecting her so much now? Him choosing his career over her created deep, emotional regrets that will scar. On top of that, Emily kept teasing how she will be a burden to him; as if paying for her meal will cost him tremendously. I wouldn't want him to have any more regrets about me.. She once thought, saying it in a salty tone.

It's a brand new week. Yesterday, she spent the whole day cleaning her apartment. It is now fully moved in with clutters.

"I love your house Em! It's so you!" Garcia said as she got a tour.

Emily invited the girls for breakfast. They had the day off, so it was a perfect opportunity to show off her house. Emily's been to everyone's house - but no one has been in hers. It's time to open her doors..

"You have to throw a housewarming party!" JJ said. excited.

"I was thinking that too! But I'm gonna wait until Sergio moves in." Emily said with a smirk.

Garcia and JJ shared a look, "Sergio?"

"...My new cat!" Emily laughed, knowing damn well they fell for the joke.

"Phew! For a second there I thought you're moving in with a man! I would be so surprised since you haven't texted any guy recently.." Garcia mumbled the last sentence.

"Hey! Stay away from my phone!" Emily clicked her fingers at her direction.

"What are you guys doing this weekend?" Emily asked.

"Clearly going to your party." JJ took a sip out of her margarita.

Emily agreed on hosting, now to invite people..

"I can help you with sending out invites. I'll just pop a notification on their phone every hour until the day comes; so they don't forget!" Garcia said.

"Your power is too dangerous, you crazy girl." Emily kissed her on the cheek.

"You know it mama." Penelope winked in response.

"Do two notification per day.. every morning and night - but on the day, do whatever you feel best." Emily winked. Her face then turned solemn, "...but don't do it to Hotch. I'll tell him myself."

"O- oh okay." Garcia said, looking at JJ to see if she noticed the same thing.

"Alright I've got to get going. I will see you ladies tomorrow. Henry needs me." JJ grabbed her bag and coat.

"Bye babe!" The two other girls said.

"So.. why aren't you inviting Aaron?" Penelope asked. "Emily, I'm not a profiler, but I know when something's up. Plus, I totally didn't hack Hotch's phone to get this information but- Hotch has opened your messages at least twice a day, typing a paragraph then deleting it."

Emily looked surprised, glad that he's thinking about her. "I can't Pen.. dating him is just too complicated, I like how things are right now?"

"Now? NOW NOW? So, you like the awkward tensions when you're around him?" Penelope confronted her.

"I just can't Pen.." Emily shook her head.

To Garcia, it seems that Emily has given up the thought of a happy ending. She's shut the idea out, accepting the fact that the job prevent her from having a life.

"Remember when you dated that golfer? It worked out with him!" Garcia tried to prove a point.

"Yes- because he doesn't work in the bureau Garcia." Emily made her points as well. "Aaron's the Unit Chief, it's his dream job.. hell, I remember him talking about it when we were kids.." She chuckled at the thought.

-

It was the next day, an ordinary day.

"Prentiss!" Morgan greeted her.

"Hi, what's going on?" Emily was surprised at the commotion.

"We got your invite! Excited to see your new place." Reid said.

"...and to meet Sergio!" Rossi added.

Seeing them so excited made her excited; until she saw a man standing in her peripheral vision. "Fuck." She mumbled to herself, "Hotch can I talk to you?" She said, approaching his office.

"What's that about?" Morgan noticed a little rush in her steps.

"She didn't give one to Hotch.." Penelope answered.

Aaron sat down, he knew why she didn't invite him.

"Is it because I told them I love you?" Aaron closed the blinds.

"Love?" Emily said softly.

"Loved." He hesitated. "That's not the point, why didn't you invite me?"

"I wanted to.."

"But?" He met her gaze. "Because of Sergio? You didn't want me to get hurt, seeing you with another man?"

She laughed, "Sergio? God you are so wrong!" She scoffed "You know what? Just come, Aaron. You already know where I live." She said, putting her hand on the doorknob.

"Wait-" He rushed over to her, stopping her. "Just wait." Their faces, inches away from each other, feeling each other's warm breaths.

"What are you doing?" Her back was against the door.

He was right infront of her, his hands on the side of her shoulders. "I-" He struggled to come up with words.

He doesn't really know what he was doing. He just wanted her to stay. Aaron want to talk to her, just anything. She's been avoiding him since, he misses her.

"I want to talk to you." He said.

His lips were right infront of her face; she was fighting so hard to not kiss those lips.

Her hand reached to the side, opening the blinds again.

JJ noticed the blinds opening, but no one can be seen from the outside.

"Hotch.. I need to go." She whispered, staring at his lips.
