That Tuesday, Emily woke up with a slight headache. Though it was nothing since she was greeted by a handsome man.
As soon as she opened her eyes, her eyes met his closed ones. Even while he was asleep, he still had his usual frown. She smiled at his wrinkled eyebrows, Jack has the same look when he's upset..
She laid there, somehow unable to move - not wanting to move. Her whole world is infront of her, sleeping before her eyes. Deep down, she knows this won't last.. so she stayed. Simply admiring, simply smiling, simply breathing.
He would stir in bed slightly and groan, to which Emily would gently shush him and play with his hair. Her voice always seemed to calm him down. The blinds were closed, though some sun crept in and reached their covers.
As hard as it was to get up, she forced herself to. Slowly getting up, but her eyes were stuck on him. His wrinkled white shirt, and one of his leg was sticking out. She went over to his side of the bed and covered his leg with the blanket, it was a cold morning.
As she hovered over him, she thought about kissing his cheek, just like he did to her the night before.. but decided against it. It'd be weird..
Emily wanted to show a bit of appreciation. He did just took the week off just to take care of her. Which was no need, she is perfectly fine: she's walking normally, just light headaches when she wakes up.
She went into the bathroom and lit a lavender-scented candle. It always softened her nerves. She turned on the faucet and leaned forward, splashing water on her face.. when her eyes opened for the second time, he was in the reflection.
Usually, him greeting her would make her ecstatic, except this time, the man she saw in the reflection wasn't the man she hoped to see.
She gasped loudly, but her mouth was covered before she could scream.
Aaron.. wake up now.
Her body was lifted off the ground by another male in his fourties. Her legs kicking in the air, trying her very best to loosen his grip on her.
She tried her best to fight but she simply couldn't. Her headache that almost went away, came back. She was carried backwards; she saw Aaron shifting in her bed, reaching for her side. She sees Aaron as she was carried out, her eyes blurry from tears.
Aaron.. wake up. Please.
For once in her life, she wished he had woken up. She wished his alarm rang at five in the morning. She wished he had woken up before she did. She wished he could save her.
When they reached the hallway, Emily noticed that Ian kept staring at his phone.
"Lucky Michael's shift hasn't started huh?" Ian looked backwards, chuckling at her pain.
If only Michael came early..
Her building security is supposed to start at nine, it is now only seven. Unlucky.
"It's a bit early.. breakfast?" Ian smirked.
Her brows tensed.
"I heard Liv's bakery serves good coffee." Ian thought.
Ian kept taunting her by showing off his knowledge. He's been following her for God knows how long. He mentioned the bakery she goes to nearly every morning.
"Let's go." He uses his finger to point at a navy blue van.
She was thrown into the trunk, the palm that covered her mouth is replaced by a grey heavy-duty tape.
Right.. U-turn.. straight.. left.. parking?
She took mental notes on where the van was headed. Ian wasn't lying, he did want to stop by Liv's bakery.
