As Engfa fell into a peaceful sleep in Charlotte's warm arms, her mind drifted into a deep dream. The dream began with the bright and magnificent moments of a wedding ceremony. She and Charlotte stood hand in hand in front of a throne. Both of them were shining in their royal robes. A large crowd of witches and vampires were applauding their queen.
Engfa proudly turned to Charlotte and raised her hand in the air, addressing the crowd: "This is my wife! We will rule our realm together! Vampires and witches will reign together forever!"
The crowd shouted with joy, cheers of their honor rising. Engfa's heart was filled with joy, thinking that everything was perfect. However, suddenly, the sky darkened. A storm broke out. Lightning began to flash and rain began to pour down rapidly. The faces of the crowd that had previously applauded them changed in an instant. Now, they were approaching Engfa and Charlotte with hateful looks in their eyes. The witches and vampires suddenly began to attack each other.
"No! Stop!" Engfa shouted, but no one heard him. Blood was splattering everywhere; the witches were engaged in a deadly battle with the vampires. Swords were drawn, spells exploded in the air, death screams filled the surroundings. Everywhere was covered in blood and tears.
Engfa was horrified to see Charlotte's family in the crowd. They were also walking towards Engfa with hatred in their eyes. A moment later, Engfa's family also appeared next to him. Luther pointed around with a stern and cold gaze and shouted:
"If you had paired with a witch, this wouldn't have happened!" He extended his hand toward the battlefield. "This chaos, this bloodshed, is your fault! You should never have joined forces with the vampires! You could have ended this curse with the blood moon!"
Engfa trembled. She felt that everyone was against her. But the most painful thing was Charlotte herself. When she turned to Charlotte, she noticed that her eyes had turned blood-red. Fresh blood was flowing from the corners of her lips. Charlotte's voice echoed like a thunderous storm:
"Why were you sealed to me?" he shouted, his voice dark and cold as if it belonged to another being. "Why didn't you break the seal? I am meant to be mated with a vampire, not a witch! Because of this curse, our entire realm will be destroyed!"
Engfa's heart was breaking. She fell to her knees, writhing in pain. "I'm sorry... Charlotte, I didn't want to lose you... I only loved you..." Tears were streaming down her face. "I didn't mean to hurt you. Please, forgive me!"
Charlotte continued to stare at Engfa with anger and resentment in her eyes. "You have destroyed me, Engfa... This love will destroy us..."
Engfa covered her face with her hands, squeezed her eyes shut, and began to whisper in pain: "Forgive me... Forgive..."
Engfa suddenly sat up in his bed, covered in sweat. His breathing was irregular, his heart was beating rapidly. His eyes were wide, still under the influence of the nightmare he had seen in his dream. "Charlotte... Forgive me..." he continued to mumble. Despite the silence around him, there were still dark echoes of his dream in his mind; war, blood, and Charlotte's red eyes...
For a moment he had trouble understanding where he was. His eyes darted around the room as his chest rose and fell rapidly. The real world slowly began to return as he felt Charlotte's warm presence in the bed. But his heart was still racing, the dream had not worn off. He took a deep breath, but the pressure in his chest would not let up.
He ran his hands through his hair, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "For the love of Morgana... what was that?" he whispered to himself. The nightmare he had seen was as powerful as reality. The fear of that moment, the thought of losing Charlotte, had taken over his entire being.
