*It had been a long day since Tae and Hobi arrived in America with their little ones. The day was spent unpacking, settling in, and resting after the long journey. Hobi, ever thoughtful, made sure Tae had the most comfortable room, knowing how much he needed it.
Jin and Jimin were overwhelmed with emotion when they saw Tia after months apart. Their eyes filled with tears as Jimin didn't waste a moment to feed the tiny angel, who, like a cub, didn't even realize how hungry she was. It pained them to notice how much thinner she had become, her bright eyes now slightly smaller, dimmed by the weight of time and distance.
Jin had prepared food with his own hands for Tae and Hobi, a gesture filled with warmth and care. Yet, beneath his smile, a nervousness simmered-how would Tae react to seeing Jungkook again? He could still hear the echoes of that painful conversation with Jimin, the day they decided to keep the truth from Tae.
He remembered how Jimin had begged him not to reveal the real state of Jungkook's health. "Just tell him it's a viral infection," Jimin had said, his voice steady, but there was a tension behind his words. It had felt wrong, so wrong, to lie about something so serious. Jungkook had been on the brink of death, and yet Jin had agreed to paint a picture that wasn't true.
Jin's heart ached as he recalled the lie. How could he downplay something so critical, telling Tae that Jungkook was simply fighting a viral infection when, in reality, his condition was much graver? But he understood the complexity of it all. No matter what had happened between Tae and Jungkook, no matter the separation, there was something still alive between them-something fragile but real, a spark that had the potential to reignite everything they once had.
He wanted to see them happy together, to witness them heal, but Jimin's words still haunted him.
"Chim, why are you saying this? We should tell the truth. He's very sick. How can we lie about a random viral infection? And don't forget-he's unconscious," Jin had said, desperate for some clarity.
Jimin, calm yet determined, had met his gaze without flinching. "Hyung, I know, but this would make things messier. You know Tae. I know he still has feelings for Jungkook, and if he learns about the real situation, he won't be able to stop himself. This time, we need stability, especially with everything coming."
Jin had fallen silent, unable to argue any further. He had reluctantly agreed to tell Tae that Jungkook was only suffering from a viral infection. But now, with Tae here, with everything about to unfold, Jin could only hope that whatever was left between them-however small-could spark something new.
