"Stage fright?! How can a performer have stage fright?" Tamaki cries.
I look down in embarrassment, twiddling my thumbs in my lap. I mutter, "Well, not everyone could be as confident and good looking as you..."
"Did you just call me good looking? You're not falling for me, are you?" He winks.
"Well, we only met like five hours ago. It would be illogical for me to be falling for you this soon..." I murmur.
Tamaki ponders on the thought for a moment longer. Suddenly, his eyes light up with joy. He exclaims, "What if I gave you lessons on how to be as beautiful and carefree as me?"
I slowly look up at him. He's practically inches away from my face. I feel the blood rush into my cheeks. "H-How will we be able to do that?" I ask.
"Since obviously we will be missing school today, how about you drop by Music Room 3 during lunch tomorrow?" Tamaki says.
Music Room 3? Is he going to try to swoon me and make me a regular at the host club? I mumble, "Thanks, but no thanks. You may be able to seduce every other girl at Ouran, but I don't want to be caught up in your host club games."
Tamaki stares at me, almost analyzing me. God, he's so attractive. Why am I being so rude to him? He's just trying to help me. Tamaki is like this to every girl, though. He's the host club president for crying out loud. He stands up to leave. When he's about to walk out the door, he says, "Well if you change your mind, the offer still stands."
He's gone. Way to go, (y/n). You scared off the only boy you've ever talked to besides (b/n). Maybe I should take him up on that offer. If I ever want to become a singer/songwriter, I need to start somewhere.
My mom and brother finally arrive to my room. She says, "Where's the nice young man that was just here?"
"Oh. He had to leave, I guess. Probably has other stuff to do." I explain.
"Well, I already called your school and asked for the work you missed today. I'm still not comfortable with you going to school tomorrow. You've been through so much already." My mom's eyes tear up.
"I'm sorry to scare you, Mother. I hope you're not mad at me." I wince.
"Me? Mad? Of course not, baby. I was just scared of losing you. I didn't want you going through what your father went through."
My dad died a couple years ago in a car crash. Ever since then, my mom has been trying her best with working and raising my brother. Since I'm almost old enough to take care of myself, I figured I should help out more with my brother and chores.
As she wiped the tears from her eyes, Mother looks at the bed beside me. She says, "(y/n), I think your friend left his jacket."
I guess I'm going to have to go to Music Room 3 tomorrow. Whether I like it or not.
