Chapter 17: Study, Girl

"(Y/N)-CHAN! SING FOR ME!" Honey shouts across the room.

"Honey-senpai, I'm really trying to focus on my studies right now. You can listen to me sing at the ball in a couple of days."

In a few days, the annual ball will take place. The thing I've been preparing for this whole entire time. I'm pretty nervous at what is going to happen, but I'm just trying to get my work done before I start practicing with Tamaki. I know, I've been lagging on it, but my life has been pretty insane lately. With all of my final exams coming up, it's been difficult to manage my time equally. Tamaki has been pretty salty about me not being able to spend as much time with him. Right now, he is entertaining his guests as I'm sitting at a table sipping tea and working on my homework.

"Come on, (y/n)-chan! Just one song, please!" Honey practically begs.

I close my book and say, "Fine, but only one song. I really need to get this done, Honey. You keep distracting me."

He looks at me with puppy dog eyes, "I'm sorry...I just wanted to hear your beautiful singing once more."

All of his fangirls squeal with joy and adoration.

"He's so cute!"

"Oh my~"

Having enough of his begging, I begin to sing a song that I've been working on. My voice is clear and seamless. It echoes all around the room. I continue on and on until I am interrupted by someone's hand.

"Ahhh! Don't spoil the surprise, my love!" Tamaki says anxiously while covering my mouth with his hand.

Honey frowns and whines, "But she was getting to the good part..."

"Well, you can hear the rest of it when she performs at the ball." Tamaki smiles.

"That's no fun..."

"OH LOOK! CAKE!" Tamaki yells and points in the opposite direction.

"CAKE?! WHERE?!"

"Over ther-"

Before Tamaki could even finish his sentence, Honey dashes toward the desserts.

"I'm not a piece of cake, for you to just discard~" I sing.

"Did you say something, sweetie?" Tamaki asks.

"Oh, no. You must be hearing things...." I laugh.

After the guests leave, Tamaki and I start working on our song once more. I believe everyone will be blown away by this song. I'm so happy I could sing it to the one that I believe could be my soulmate. He's believed in me ever since day one. Sure, he can be self-centered and egotistical, but there's a whole other side to him that is beautiful. He is sweet, funny, caring, and dependable. I think he is amazing and incredible. As I watch him talk away about the piece, I stare into his eyes for awhile, blocking out everything he's saying and just gazing into him.

"(Y/n)? Did you hear my question?" He asks.

"Oh! Huh?" I snap out of my daydream.

"What are you thinking about?"

I smile, "To be honest, you. I know it sounds cheesy, but I think there may be a chance that we're meant to be together."

Tamaki laughs, "Well, of course we are. You're my girlfriend and I'm your boyfriend, silly."

"I know, but I mean...something deeper than that. It's as if we are..."

"Soulmates...?" He asks hesitantly.

"Yes, soulmates." I smile.

He looks into my eyes. Tamaki's eyes drift down to my lips. He rubs his thumb against my bottom lip and smiles. He leans in and kisses me fiercely. I can stay like this forever. His lips are so soft and warm. They taste like cherries and sugar.

He pulls away and smirks.

"I think I'm in love with you, (y/n)..." Tamaki stares intently at me.

I gasp and say, "I feel the same way about you, Tamaki."

He leans in and kisses me once more. Let's just say we didn't get much of the song done that afternoon. ;)
