My world is pitch black. I don't even know if my eyes are open or closed. It's as if I never truly existed in this whole universe. As hard as I try to move my body, it doesn't budge. It smells as if someone is burning rubber. I hear a whole bunch of sirens surrounding me. What even happened? It all happened so fast; too fast. I feel the floating sensation and realize I'm on a gurney. I finally regain my senses and open my eyes quickly.
I wake up in a hospital bed with a sharp pain in my abdomen. Tamaki is lying in the bed next to me...He's sleeping. Tamaki doesn't look hurt or anything. Why is it that he always looks so perfect all of the time? As I try to position myself at a different angle, I wince in pain. Tamaki wakes up and runs to the bedside.
"(y/n)! You're awake. I was so worried about you." He exclaims with tears in his eyes.
"Tamaki...What happened?"
Tamaki ruffles his hair, "We got in an accident. The only person with major injuries was you and my limo driver. We're still not sure if he's going to make it." He explains with sadness in his blue eyes.
I don't know why, but I feel at ease when Tamaki is around me. He makes me feel...comfortable. Maybe it's just his host club persona he always presents, but I don't want him to leave me anytime soon. I stare down at my wound.
"They rushed you into surgery when it first happened. They were going to wait until they received approval, but since I have connections, I made a few calls and voila." He sees my pained expression.
"Why are you being so nice to me? You don't even know who I am." I murmur quietly.
He looks at me with a shocked expression. "To be completely honest, it is sorta my fault that you're in this predicament. If I were you, I would be thankful for this kind of treatment from a young, handsome rich boy. Other girls will be-"
Tears fall out of my eyes. Come on, (y/n). Hold it together. Don't let him see your weakness or else he will use it against you. As I stare down, casting a shadow around my eyes, I feel arms wrap around me. The same arms I dreamed about during the crash. I look up to see Tamaki hugging me. Even though I don't like physical contact, right now it feels so good to have someone by my side through all of this.
There's a knock on the door and Tamaki quickly pulls away. The doctor walks in and shows me my x-rays; before and after the surgery.
"It appears to be you had a couple of broken ribs and a slight diaphragmatic rupture. The surgery went as expected and you will be ready to go home in a day or two. Luckily, your wounds weren't as bad as we thought they would be. If you would have gotten hit any harder, you would be dead already." The blunt doctor says as he fixes is glasses.
"Please do not overuse your diaphragm. Your wounds may be tender at first, but in a couple weeks, you will be as good as new." He promises.
As he walks out of the room, my mother and little brother rush into the hospital room and shower me in hugs and kisses. Tamaki kind of stands to the side awkwardly.
"(Y/N)! Thank goodness you are okay. We were so worried about you. I tried to get here as quick as possible, but the store was crazy busy and they wouldn't let me leave or anything. That's why, I quit my job." My mother smiles at me brightly.
I stare at her in shock. "You did what?!"
"I quit my job at the store. My family always comes first and if they don't understand that, good riddance!" She winks.
Dropping the subject, she looks toward Tamaki. "Thank you so much for staying with her...?"
"Tamaki Suoh. I'm sorry to cause so much trouble, Mrs. (l/n)." Tamaki looks down in shame.
"Don't be sorry, Mr. Suoh. Unfortunately, accidents happen all the time." My mother smiles, but shows a hint of sadness in her eyes.
There is a small pause until (b/n) holds up a bundle of flowers towards me and says, "Here you go, (y/n)!"
Mother looks at him and exclaims, "Where did you get those flowers?"
(b/n) looks at her with a sly smile, "From the market, of course."
As my mother drags (b/n) out of the room by one ear, I yell, "Thank you for thinking of me, (b/n)."
Tamaki sits on the edge of my bed, "(y/n)...When you are all healed up and ready to come back to Ouran again, may I hear your voice?"
I stare at him with a puzzled expression, "Tamaki. You can hear my voice right now."
Tamaki looks at me with a hint of red on his cheeks, "I mean, your singing voice. There aren't that many singers at Ouran Academy. I would be honored if you can sing for our annual ball in two months." He explains.
I stare at him in shock, "It's such a big honor, but there's a slight problem."
Tamaki stares at me and looks me up and down, "If it's your clothes, I can buy you a whole new wardrobe if you'd like."
"No! It's not my wardrobe. I really like my clothes, actually."
"Are you sure? You could use a new sense of style." He snickers.
"Hey! Don't mock me!" I yell, obviously flustered.
"Okay. Now, tell me." With anticipation, he leans in closer.
"Uhm...I have social anxiety." I quiver.
Tamaki's expression doesn't change. "You won't be socializing much, though. You will be our performer." He smiles.
"I also...have stage fright." I whisper.
As if he saw a majestic, fabulous unicorn in his presence, Tamaki's jaw drops in shock.
