"So after all of this, what are you going to do?"
"Take a nap."
"No, after the war. You knew what I meant."
I shot Peggy a mishevuous smile, of course I knew what she meant. "I don't know, yet."
"Do Steve and Bucky have any idea?" She asked passing me a paper. I took a glance at it, skimming it's contents before putting it in a certain pile. The boys were due back any minute now. They had successfully taken down another HYDRA base, we only had a handful left of Schmidt's bases to take out. We were so close to demolishing all their bases, and ending our mission, hence why Peggy was asking about my plans after the war.
Howard approached us, he was eating something. He took a look at what we were doing before he asked, "How'd they do?"
"According to Steve, perfectly well." Peggy answered.
"Good to hear." Howard replied. "What are you two doing?"
"Anna! We're back!" A rowdy voice yelled from across the huge room. The sound bounced off the brick walls. I tried to suppress a smile but failed.
"Hey Bucky, hey Steve." I greeted with a smile. "How'd it go?"
"Well we're all in one piece, against the best efforts of this guy." Bucky teased pointing at Steve. Bucky wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
"What'd he do?" I asked Bucky staring at Steve.
"Decided it was a good idea to stop a tank. By himself."Bucky tattled.
"That does explain this." I said, placing a thumb on Steve's cheek. It was blackened like a bruise. As I rubbed the blacken spot, it started to come off. It was ash. "Did the tank explode?"
"No, that's just dirt." Steve answered with a half smile. He looked down at me with an relaxed amusement in his eyes.
"We missed you on this one Peggy." Bucky mentioned making her smile.
"Well, I figured Anna needed help filing some papers." Peggy teased
"Yeah, she's pretty helpless when it comes to using her brain." Bucky joked.
"Can't use something you don't have." Steve quickly added making Bucky and him snicker. I rolled my eyes and gave the both of them a shove.
"Anna and I were just talking about our plans for after the war." Peggy mentioned to Steve and Bucky. I think she was curious as to what Steve was doing after.
"Oh God, will it ever end?" Howard mumbled taking a sip of some coffee he found.
"According to Eisenhower, yes." Colonel Phillips answered walking past us. The corners of his lips lifted slightly letting us know he had been ease dropping this entire conversation.
"What are your plans Anna?" Bucky asked me.
I shrugged at first. "I don't know. I just kind of want to go wherever the wind takes me. I guess I'll find home somewhere."
"You're not going back to Brooklyn?" Steve questioned raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know, I'm going wherever."
"I guess that's a plan." Bucky commented. "I plan on just bothering these two until they get tired on me. Maybe finding a girl, I don't know."
"Poor girl." I muttered making Bucky roll his eyes.
"None of you want to do the old, go home and start a family?" Howard asked us. Steve and Bucky just collectively shrugged.
