Third Person’s POV

“I’ve never felt my energy so drained before...” Taka sighed dramatically, flopping onto the couch like a deflated balloon.

“Me too, Taka... me too...” Ichika groaned, slumping beside him. The once-energetic room now felt like a warzone aftermath. The former members of the Victories, plus Fumiya and Pheng, had just wrapped up the first round of the tournament. They weren’t up against just any Bladers, they faced top-tier talents from around the globe. But despite the pressure, they had all managed to push through.

“Don’t be so dramatic,” Fumiya said as he leaned casually against the wall, tossing his hair with a flair. “You should be grateful that I carried your ass in the whole entire round round”

Ichika sat up slightly, glaring at him. “Excuse me? I literally knocked out that guy with one hit.”

“Yeah, after I weakened him,” Fumiya countered smoothly, flashing a smug look that screamed "you're welcome”.

And just like that, Ichika lunged forward, ready to deliver a mighty punch to her very punchable brother. Arman, used to this sibling warfare, stepped in just in time, holding her back.

“Alright, alright, no fighting,” Arman said with a chuckle. “Let’s save that energy for tomorrow, okay?”

Ichika grumbled, arms crossed in frustration. Behind her, Taka and Pheng shared a laugh. The tension was easing again, until a loud grrrggggglll echoed through the room.

“Hmm... someone’s hungry?” Arman smirked as he glanced at Fumiya, whose face instantly turned like a tomato.

“S-shut up, Arman! I haven’t eaten anything today, okay!?” Fumiya snapped, trying (and failing) to maintain his cool.

“I have a cookie. Want some?” Pheng offered with a sweet smile but there was a mischievous glint in his eyes that should have set off alarms. Fumiya eyed the cookie suspiciously.

“No. I don’t want your stupid cookie. It’ll probably taste awful,” he huffed, turning away.

“Fumiya!!” Ichika scolded, smacking him lightly. “Be grateful Pheng even offered you something!”

“It’s okay,” Pheng said smoothly. “I actually made it for you, Fumiya... but if you don’t want it, maybe Arman will-”

“Wait what!? No! Wait-” Fumiya panicked and grabbed the cookie from Pheng’s hand. “Fine. I’ll take it. Don’t wanna waste a cookie made for me.”

Everyone watched in suspense as Fumiya took a bite. For a moment, silence. Then-

“Wait... this is actually pretty good. Eh- wait”

His face turned red again, this time from heat. “SO SPICY!!” Fumiya yelled, flailing his arms and sprinting around the room like a man on fire.

“I can’t believe you fell for it!” Pheng laughed, practically rolling on the floor.

“Oof… poor Fumiya,” Taka muttered with a sympathetic wince as he watched Fumiya running around like a mad man.

“Karma,” Ichika said, deadpan.

Fumiya ran up to her in desperation, clutching her by the shoulders. “Ichika! You brought your water bottle, right?!”

“Yes. So what?”

“PLEASEEE I NEED WATERRRRR!”

“Nu uh. No way. Why should I share my water bottle with you?”

“CAUSE I’M YOUR BROTHER!!”

Pheng laughed harder, and even Taka and Arman were barely holding back their amusement. Eventually, Ichika rolled her eyes and handed over the bottle. “Ugh. I’m not using that water bottle again,” she muttered.

Once Fumiya was done chugging, Arman gave him a knowing look. “So, Fumiya. What do you say when someone helps you?”

Fumiya groaned. “...thank you,” he muttered.

“I can’t hear you, dumbass!” Ichika snapped, glaring again.

Fumiya groaned louder. “THANK YOU.”

That was enough to send Pheng into another laughing fit. “Damn. After all that laughing, I’m super duper hungry! We should eat something!”

“Good idea,” Arman agreed, “but I don’t know any good places around Paris.”

“Don’t worry!” Taka chimed in, pulling out his phone. “I already searched online for one with really good reviews!”! I mapped it out and everything.”

Meanwhile, just across the room in another part of the waiting area, Valt was watching the whole scene with an amused grin. Delta had just finished polishing Devolos when Valt nudged him gently and gestured to the lively group.

“Aren’t they your friends? I’m pretty sure they’re from your generation,” Valt said casually.

Delta looked up. His eyes flickered over Arman, Ichika, Taka, Pheng… Familiar faces. Distant memories. He gave a small nod, then returned to Devolos. “I know them. But we’re not friends,” he said flatly.

Valt sighed, dragging a hand down his face. “Delta… Remember what I said about making friends? You should say hi!”

“I’m good,” Delta said flatly, eyes back on Devolos. Meanwhile, Valt had other plans. Without warning, Valt grabbed Delta’s arm and marched him straight toward the group. Delta blinked, caught completely off guard. “Wait- Valt?!”

“Hey guys!” Valt said with his usual big grin. “I heard you’re heading to a restaurant. You should bring Delta along! You guys know Delta, right?”

Delta stood beside him stiffly. Standing right there, Delta feels like he wants to disappear, Valt is acting like an embarrassing mother introducing her kid to the other kids.

Arman blinked in surprise but replied with a friendly smile. “Yeah… we know Delta, he can come along.”

Ichika leaned toward Arman and whispered, “Are you sure about this? It’s been three years. It’ll be super awkward.”

“It’s fine,” Arman whispered back. “The more the merrier. I’ll find something to talk about. Just chill.”

Ichika sighed. “Alright. If you say so…”

Arman turned to Delta. “Come on. We don’t mind the company. You’re welcome to join. What about you, Valt? Coming?”

“I’m good. I’ve got some business to attend to. You guys go have fun,” Valt grinned, giving Delta a little pat on the back before walking away.

“Alright guys! Let’s go! Follow Taka!” Arman called out, leading the group out of the waiting room.

As Delta walked slightly behind the group, hands in his pockets and Devolos tucked safely in his jacket, he glanced at the familiar faces laughing and bickering like no time had passed.

A part of him doesn’t want to be here but another part of him, he is curious.

Three years… and they’re still the same.

He didn’t say much. He wasn’t sure what he expected, but he’s going to trust the process. Delta looked down at Devolos. Let’s just see where this goes.
