Dante’s POV
Do you guys believe that beys have their own lives? I know, it sounds a little crazy when you think about it. Most people see them as just spinning metal tops. But for us Bladers? They’re so much more than that. They’re not just tools, they’re partners, friends, even family.
When you build a bond with your bey, it’s like your lives are connected. It’s not like if I die, my bey dies, but when that bond is strong, you and your bey share something. The energy, the emotions, the spirit, it all flows between you both. That’s why when the bond breaks, when your bey bursts... it feels like you’ve lost a part of yourself. Like a part of your soul is gone.
And that... that happened to me.
{{Flashback to 1 year ago}}
“Dante... are you sure we can win this?”
I heard Dragon’s voice, and it was... different. There was a hint of worry there, something I didn’t catch at the time. But I didn’t care. This battle was too important. I couldn’t let Arthur Peregrine change the future of Beyblade. I had to win. I had to.
Dragon had scratches on his wings, some big ones, but I ignored them. I was too focused on winning, on putting an end to Arthur’s plans. I told myself, We’re fine. We can win this.
“I’m 100% sure, Dragon. We can’t let Arthur change the future of Beyblading,” I said, my voice full of determination.
Dragon smiled, but there was that sadness in his eyes again. I didn’t notice. I should’ve. Maybe if I had…

And then it happened.
Dragon burst.
I saw him shatter into pieces, his wings falling apart. The world seemed to slow down, and all I could do was watch in disbelief as Dragon, my partner, my friend, was torn apart in front of me.
Arthur just smirked and walked away, like it didn’t matter. But to me? It mattered. Everything about that moment mattered. I dropped to my knees, staring at the broken pieces of Dragon. He was gone.
Tears started to fall. I didn’t even try to stop them. I should’ve been more careful. I should’ve listened to Dragon. He was hurt. He was warning me, but I didn’t see it. I let my anger get the best of me, and now...
Now, Dragon was gone. And I lost a part of myself with him.

That day... everything changed. I couldn’t just keep going like nothing happened. So, I fixed Dragon. I worked on him for hours, days, trying to bring him back, but... it wasn’t the same. He was just a bey now. A lifeless piece of metal, no longer the partner I once had. I couldn’t hear his voice, his spirit was gone. I tried to bring him back, but it didn’t work.
And that’s when I knew. Dragon couldn’t be replaced. Beyblade couldn’t be the same without him. So, I stopped. I quit. I walked away from the arena, from the battles. Because... without Dragon, it didn’t feel right.
I came back to France. The place where I grew up. I didn’t know what else to do. Beyblade had been everything to me, but without Dragon, I felt... lost. No goal, no purpose. Just an empty feeling that I couldn’t shake.
But I couldn’t just sit around. I didn’t want to be a burden to my parents, so I found a job. I started working as a waiter in a restaurant. It’s not much, but it’s something. Still, every day, I feel like something is missing. I meet new people. I even make new friends, but... it’s not the same. It’s not the same as being on the battlefield with Dragon, battling with all my heart and soul.
The one thing that hasn’t changed? I still watch Beyblade battles. I can’t help it. Every time Delta’s battling, I’m there, watching him like I used to watch myself. His energy, his strength, his spirit, it reminds me of what I used to have. Every time I see him, I can’t help but think, I want to be just like that.
I even show Dragon. I guess it’s my way of keeping the memory alive. I watch his battles, and in my heart, I tell Dragon, Look, we’re still watching. You’re still here, with me.
I still think about the old days. The Victories. Arman, Ichika, Taka, Pops... those were the days. We were unstoppable. We were a team, a family. I miss them all. I miss the laughter, the battles, the victories. But most of all, I miss Dragon. I miss my partner.
I don’t know what’s next. I don’t know if I’ll ever battle again. But one thing I do know is that I’m not giving up on hope. Maybe someday, I’ll find that spark again. Maybe someday, I’ll find my way back to the arena.
But for now, I’ll keep watching. Keep remembering. And maybe, just maybe, Dragon will be ready when the time comes.
