"Bhaiyya, he is acting up again. Aap baat karo na usse", Jurel complained to his ex-captain."Ab kya ho gaya? I talked to him last night about the shot. He said he understands the necessity of it and will get it done without fuss. Mann badal gaya already?", Sanju asked. "Give him the phone. Let me talk".
"Yashasvi Jaiswal, ye kya naya naatak hai? We discussed this yesterday, remember? There is a malaria outbreak in Zimbabwe - so the whole team is advised to take a vaccination before traveling. You won't get exemptions just because you are scared of shots, Jaiswal", he explained to his 30 yr old baby.
"Jaiswal mat bulao aap mujhe. You know I don't like it. Yes, we had discussed and I was brave yesterday after the discussion. Par abhi mujhe nahi lena vaccination. Malaria ho jane do, chalega", the left hander said, stubbornly. "Yashasvi, malaria hoga toh you might need many more shots than a single vaccination shot. Why are you being so childish, baba? Your 2 year old daughter is more mature in this aspect", Sanju remarked.
"Saanvi aap ke jaisi hai- oh so mature and brave. The other day I tried doing baby talk with her and she told me,'Papa no baby talk, Sani big girl'. Dada ki chamchi. Usko saare vaccinations ke liye aap leke jate ho- toh why would she be scared. Main yahaan akela", Yashasvi complained.
"Yashi- she is your biological child. Your exact carbon copy- she has all your mannerisms and tantrums. And you are saying she is like me. My point is Saanvi ko shots dilwane me mujhe itni difficulty nahi hoti jitni tumhe. You are a big man, Yashu- you cannot be dependent on me like this for such silly things", Sanju tried to explain to his husband.
"I will always be dependent on you. But aapko Saanvi mil gayi toh you don't care for me. I am giving the phone back to DJ", Yashasvi said.
"Bhaiyya, you made things worse. Ab woh bilkul nahi maanega", Dhruv said. "Let me get Saanvi settled - abhi uthi hai. I will talk to my older child after that. Tu fikar mat kar, DJ", Sanju consoled the fellow wicket keeper.
"Dada, pick up", said the little one."Come baby, let's get you freshened up, then we can call Papa", said Sanju, gathering his 2 yr old daughter in his arms."Dada miss Papa? Sani miss Papa. Sani want Papa huggie sleep", Saanvi said, with her big girl vocabulary. "Do-do baccho ko akele sambhalna hai aaj mujhe- help me Lord", Sanju cried.
Sanju called Yash and gave the phone to their daughter. "Papaaa, Sani miss you. Come back home", she shouted as soon as she saw her other dad's face."Saanvi, Dada told you. Papa has gone to play for India. He will come back in a few days and give lots of huggies to Saanvi. Don't make Papa sad, baby", Sanju requested the younger version of his husband. Papa and daughter talked for some more time before Saanvi got hungry,"Dada, I want food. Take me to achacha (grandpa)".
Sanju took the phone from her and said to his upset husband,"I will take her to Mummy and come right back and call you, sweetheart". He took Saanvi downstairs and handed her over to his father,"Good Morning achacha", Saanvi greeted her grandpa."Come my baby. Let's have breakfast - achacha was waiting for you to come down", he said.
Sanju called his husband again. "Yes Samson, tell me why you called", Yash said. "Yashu, kya hua baccha. You know I feel helpless when you are so far away and upset with me. What do I do to make you happy, baby?", asked the older guy. "Talk to me like you did when I was 18,chetta. I might have grown in years, but I am still a baby for you. Kabhi kabhi mujhe bhi pamper karo na. I feel Saanvi ke aane ke baad your focus has shifted to her. Aap abhi mere sath tour pe aate nahi ho. I understand she is still very young, but I also need you, Sanju. You knew when we started dating that I was always going to be dependent on you", Yashasvi said.
Sanju felt guilty seeing his baby boy so unhappy. It was true that he had stopped traveling much with Yash as Saanvi was still young and managing her alone was still a hassle. They could hire a baby sitter, but Saanvi being extremely attached to Yash, refused to let go of her Papa. Leaving her in the hotel and getting out to join the team had become a task for Yashasvi. They would both end up crying and moody after the struggle. That's why it was decided by both of them that Saanvi wouldn't join on tours till she was a little bigger.
