"Ji, woh Mummy was asking for your number, de du?", Ishan asked Virat on the phone.

"Ab Virat bhaiyya toh nahi bula sakta na", Ishan replied, shyly. "Aur Mummy ke saamne naam se bulaunga toh daant padegi, zor ki", he added.

"Abey yaar.. Pata hota ki tu Ae ji oh ji pe aa jayega, toh main propose hi nahi karta. Virat bula le, Ishan. Mujhe koi problem nahi hai. And call me Vi in front of your mom, theek hai?", Virat said. Ishan hummed in response.

His mother-in-law called him after a few minutes."How are you, Virat ji?", she asked. "Mummy, aap bhi ye ji ji kyu bula rahe ho? Aap toh Virat bula sakte hai na?", Virat complained.

"Arre, damaad hai aap ghar ke. Itni izzat toh deni padegi na, beta?", she replied. "Accha, I wanted to ask you something. Waise toh Saroj ji se poocha toh mana kar diya tha, fir bhi. Shaadi mein mehmano ke liye hum kuch leke aaye kya? Humare yahaan aisa bahut chalta hai - gharwalo ke liye tohfa wagera", she asked.

"Mummy, main aapki beti byaah ke leke nahi jaa raha hu. Ishan bhi mere ghar mein damaad banke aa raha hai. Ye sab formality kyu soch rahe ho aap. "Pehle jaisa nahi hai, damaad ji. Ab shadi tay ho gayi hai toh akele bhejungi toh theek nahi rahega. Phir bhi main Pranav se ek baar baat kar leti hu", she replied, before saying her goodbyes.

"Mummy yaar. Aap bhabhi ko mera chaperone banake bhej rahe ho? We are grown men, Mummy. It's embarrassing", Ishan cribbed to his mom once he came to know about the wedding shopping plans.

"Tu chup kar, Ishu. Pehli baar sasuraal ja raha hai. Woh log kya sochenge akele akele boriya leke pahunch gaya toh",asked his mom.

"I am not taking any boriya with me. Subah jaaunga, shopping karke, raat ko wapas aa jaunga", Ishan declared.

"Main bas naam ke liye aa rahi hu, paagal- mummy ki tasalli ke liye. I will give wide berth to you and Virat. Jo karna hai kar lo, as long as the wedding shopping also gets completed on time", Pallavi whispered in Ishan's ears and Ishan calmed down.

Ishan arrived with his bhabhi at the Kohli household after three days. He went and hugged everyone, when he saw Pallavi indicating towards his mother-in-law's feet. "Oh sorry", he said, before touching Virat's mom's feet for her blessing. He had visited Virat's home so often that the family already considered him a part of them and the formalities were always forgotten.

The Kohlis took turns at feeding him breakfast and talking to him and giving suggestions on the wedding attire, while Virat waited for his turn to spend some time with his boy. It was afternoon by the time they left to see the designer. They had opted for an exclusive visit to avoid publicity and were shown the creme-de-la-creme of wedding fashion. They settled on black suits for the reception and complementing shades of maroon for the wedding. The pair handed over the shopping duties to both bhabhis and sneaked off for some private time.

"Just drive", Virat instructed his driver before shutting the blinds between him and the driver. He took his boyfriend's hand in his for the first time in weeks. It was the first time that Virat was looking at his pocket dynamo as anything other than a teammate. "Ishu, how difficult is it to get you to myself? Itna bhi pyaara nahu hona chahiye na, IshKish- everyone wants a piece of you", Virat teased.
