Warning: Poly Relationship

"Virat, why is the GT captain staring at me like I stole his girlfriend?", Glen Maxwell enquired his friend, in between their practice session.

"That's nothing. He is my kid- so can't stand it if I give attention to someone else when he is around", Virat explained.

"Is that right? Oh well, let me just rile him up a bit during the match. Who knows, he might lose his patience and pick up a fight", Maxwell said with a big grin.

"Maxi, no man. He will get pissed and I am the one who has to pacify him, not you", Virat begged his mischievous friend.

It was match day and GT was batting first. Shubman walked in with his opening partner and walked towards the slip to talk to Virat. "Woh Maxi ke sath flirt karne ka plan hai toh wapas room mein aana mat aap", Shubman said with an innocent smile. Only Virat knew the seriousness of that threat. Shubman was the youngest among them, but he was also the one who kept him and Ishan on leash. Both Virat and Ishan took extra care not to piss him off unnecessarily.

As planned, Maxwell roamed around Virat all the time. Hands on waist, slap on his butt and an occasional hug too- Maxwell was trying his best to distract Shubman Gill, who was batting well. Virat had caught a ball to dismiss Sai and Maxwell jumped on him and was caught neatly by Virat, as though they did it every day.

Shubman was trying his best to keep his intrusive thoughts at bay, but the shit eating grin of Maxwell was getting to him. He was losing concentration. But the nail on the coffin was Maxwell telling his boyfriend,"Victory party in my room- just you and me, Virat". Shubman hit the ball with all his anger, only to chop it back on to his stumps. He glared at Maxwell and his boyfriend before walking back to the pavilion.

The second innings had Shubman ignoring Virat. Virat walked in to open with Faf and tried to talk to Shub before taking guard, only to see him walk away. Glen walked in at the fall of Faf's wicket and Virat could see his boy ready to breathe fire. There was a lot of chirping - the captain leading the charge and egging his bowlers on to aim for Maxwell's ribs. Finally Mohit bowled Maxwell out and the aggressive celebration from Shubman had the umpire giving him a warning.

The match ended with GT winning by a meagre margin of 5 runs. Shubman shook hands with everyone. Virat tried to hug him after shaking hands, but was suprised by a firm hand on his chest refusing the hug. Virat knew he had a long night ahead pacifying his boyfriend.

Virat gave Shubman couple of hours to calm down before he reached his room. Shubman opened the door and went inside without greeting Virat. "Baat nahi karega, baby?", he asked.

"Baby? Why? Maxwell ditched you last moment, jo aap idhar aa gaye?", Shub asked.

"Come on, Shub. You know he was just pulling your legs", Virat replied.

"You knew he was doing it on purpose and still kept encouraging him? Wow. I think you should go back to your hotel room, Virat", Shubman said.

"Don't be so immature Shubman, aise baccho jaisi baat mat karo", Virat scolded.

"Please leave, Virat. I don't want things to escalate", Shubman said sternly. "And yes, I am the kid in this relationship. Ishan treats me like one. I guess I was wrong in expecting the same from you", he added, while holding the door open for his boyfriend to leave.

Virat didn't expect Shubman to react this way and was completely clueless on how to go about with pacifying him. He had to call Ishan- but the boy had a match the next day and he didn't want to disturb him. Virat went back to his hotel, hoping that his kid would calm down a bit in the morning and they could talk peacefully.
