A year later
It took a year for the wind to rush away the dead, the ocean to wash the ponds of blood and for time to heal.
Akila's castle was cleaned and sealed off forever. The forest surrounding had started to recover from the burning fire of the Great War.
The house was empty. Armando took off to spend time with his family after everything that unravelled. Emilion was nowhere to be found. No one knew what happened to him after the war. Whether he ran away or died. No one knew.
Kira would soon go after him, and tear the world apart to find Emilion.
Whitie and Narcisa managed to escape. They were never seen after war.
The Albanian mafia perished. Both Amelia and Alyssa were gone, taking down their empire.
Dante was dead. His body was left and gone on that battlefield. Julia took Lia and Lydia to live somewhere far and peaceful for the girls to grow and heal.
And now, Adriano walked on the beach, his gaze pierced through the back that faced the ocean, where stood Alessandro.
After Armando caught Alessandro from falling to his ultimate death, he was rushed to a hospital. And with a lot of procedures and taking various medical risks, it was difficult to bring him back. Alessandro was technically dead for almost two hours before he was admitted, and through weeks of a silent coma, he woke up. Adriano was next to him, and he was the one to deliver Alessandro the news.
And he'd disappear. He'd be gone.
Alessandro lost her. And then he lost his mind.
The doctors gave him time to recover both physically and mentally, but nothing stood as great as his grief. Nothing conquered in his brain. He forgot everything about that war, except the times he shared with Akila.
He'd erase every name and every face from his memory, apart from hers.
He'd mist any life he'd ever known before her, without her. And he'd spent the last of his life in pain and torment.
He came to the ocean, he lived there. Never leaving. Partly to mourn his loss, and partly to yell and curse the waters for taking her away from him.
He looked for her. He searched her body across all seas. But, he failed to find anything left of her. And it made him wonder if she never wanted to be found.
Everyone was dead. The fire burned the last beating heart and the rain suffocated the final draw of breath. His father was dead. His mother. Adriano was the last family he had. On some days, Alessandro didn't even recognize his cousin.
Alessandro's mind was no longer, it didn't process things the way normal people do. The sole purpose in his life was to Akila, and the agonizing ache he was to fade in for losing his love.
Alessandro might've lived to see another day, but he was dead with Akila. He'd drown with her.
Only the water had what was left of her, so he spent every running hour and minute with her, the vast of endless waters, the grave she took to hide her deceased body.
