Red's POV
I am on my knees in a lot of pain. Then I see Ace throw something in the air and it surrounds me. It looks like some kind of black ash and that's when he told me that it was mountain ash and no supernatural could cross the barrier.
The Author's POV
I tell Chloe to stay back while I scout ahead to make sure that nobody else is around and before I get up I catch someone else's scent. It isn't Reds, Ace's, or anyone else around, but someone that was just here. I tell Chloe and she looks worried and I reassure her that whoever it was isn't around anymore. Once I come up with a plan I make my way down toward where Red and Ace are. Ace mockingly says "you can't break this barrier even your dad couldn't the first time." I put my hands on the barrier and see that Red looks worried.
Chloe's POV
What did she mean by another scent and they are gone? Who could that be, it doesn't matter anyways since they are gone now. Kylie tells me to stay here and stay hidden and that's when she scouts ahead to find out anything else. I notice that she runs down towards Ace and Red. Why would Kylie go by herself? She knows it's dangerous, but I guess she's trying to protect me. That's when I see her run towards Ace and Red and he says something to her which pisses her off and she puts her hands on some type of barrier and it looks like she's going to break through, but can't tell from this angle.
Red's POV
I see someone running around, but can't tell if it's Chloe or Kylie. That's when I was startled by Kylie and she ran up to me and Ace. Ace talks to her in a mocking way. I can only make a few words out because I am still in so much pain from what my mother did to me and that's when Kylie puts her hands on the barrier I was in.
Ace's POV
I tell Kylie that she can't break through. She's just a beta. She's not strong enough to break the barrier. That's when I realized that she is like her father and I started to get a little nervous that she could very well break through. Kylie takes her hands off the barrier and that's when I decided to throw up some more mountain ash in the area and walk over to Red and put her in a choke hold. That's when I see Kylie's eyes change to yellow. I know I just messed up. She puts her hands back on the barrier.
The Author's POV
Once he put his arm around Red's neck I knew I couldn't give up, so I put my hands back on the barrier and used the last bit of my strength and pushed on the barrier harder. That's when I notice Red looking at me in a way that she knew that I was going to be able to do it and Ace looked at me in a scared way and he let Red go. After he let Red go I broke through the barrier and separated a part of the circle, so I could walk through. That's when I hear Chloe come running up from behind me and that's when I tell her to take Red to safety. I will deal with Ace.
Red's POV
I saw Kylie's eyes change from yellow to red. What does this mean? I need to ask her. I am glad that they were able to find me and save me from Ace and my mom, but I wonder what Kylie is going to do with him. Chloe grabs me and takes me to somewhere Ace can't see me and checks me for injuries. That's when she notices the blood on the back of my neck and the burn and cut marks on my back. I started crying and saying I couldn't help it. They looked in my mind somehow and learned everything.
Chloe's POV
When I got Red to somewhere Ace couldn't see us I started checking Red for any injuries. That's when I noticed the back of her neck had blood on it and the wounds on her back because her shirt was stained red. She started talking to me about what happened and how she couldn't stop it or help it. I told Red it was okay and that she is safe now and that Ace is probably going to end up in federal prison or worse.
The Author's POV
I knocked Ace out and called in reinforcements and they took Ace to a maximum security prison where he will never see the light of day again. I wonder why Ace would do this, but I don't really worry about it because I have to check on Red to make sure that she is okay. That's when I see Red and Chloe walking towards me and it looked like Red was previously crying. so I ran up to her. I talk to Red and ask her what's wrong and she just hugs me and that's when I discovered a new ability and tells me and Chloe thank you.
Red's POV
Me and Chloe walk towards Kylie and I told her everything that I could remember, especially the part about Ace having a werewolf and how they looked inside my mind and I couldn't fight it and I told Kylie "sorry." She hugged me, acting like it wasn't a big deal. Maybe she understands and knows that it wasn't my fault. She grabs my hand and pulls me in a for another hug. That's when I realized that I made two true friends and they don't care about my past or who my mom is.
The Author's POV
I ask Chloe if she could give me and Red a minute. She steps away and me and Red discuss a few things and that's when I pull her in for another hug and I feel a tingling sensation in my arms and that's when I realize how much pain Red was in and I take her hand and start taking her pain away to make her feel better and she looks at me confused and asks me "are all werewolves able to do this." I talk to her about it and tell her certain ones can.
Chloe's POV
I wonder what Red and Kylie are talking about and I walk over and see that Kylie is holding Red's hand and I ask whats going on and Kylie tells me that she is taking Red's pain away. I tell Kylie I didn't know that werewolves could do that and she tells me "certain ones can." I am glad we are all friends and that we need to get back to the dorms. It's getting late . We need to talk to Uma and tell her what happened. Maybe we can have more guards standing watch outside of our dorms, so nothing like this happens again. Red and Kylie agree. We got back to the dorm. That's when Uma is already in the dorm looking at the empty room. She turns around and sees us standing in the doorway and she asks us where we have been.
