The scent of gunpowder lingered in the air as I stood in the middle of the private shooting range, my fingers wrapped around the cold steel of a pistol.
Luca and Alex stood on either side of me, both watching closely.
"First things first," Luca began, nodding toward the weapon in my grip. "Know your gun. You're not just holding a piece of metal—you're holding control, power. If you don't respect it, it'll bite back."
I exhaled, nodding as I adjusted my stance.
Alex smirked. "You're already holding it better than half the guys we train Mrs. Jeon."
I rolled my eyes. "Flattery won't make me go easy on you later."
He chuckled. "Didn't expect it to."
Luca stepped forward, reaching out to adjust my grip slightly. "Align your fingers like this. Thumb here. And always keep your trigger finger off until you're ready to shoot."
I mimicked his movements, feeling the weight of the gun settle in my hands.
"Now, the mechanics," Luca continued. "You've got a semi-automatic here, standard magazine. Bullet enters the chamber, hammer strikes, and boom—one less problem in your way."
Alex leaned against the counter, arms crossed. "Of course, there are a lot of things to consider—caliber, recoil, range. But we'll get to all that."
I took a steadying breath. "And what about his gun?"
Luca and Alex exchanged a knowing glance.
Jungkook's gun.
I had seen it before, but never up close. It wasn't just any firearm—it was something else entirely.
Luca let out a low whistle. "Ah, that thing? It's not just a weapon. It's his."
Alex grinned. "Custom-made. Hand-carved grip, modified trigger. No one else uses it but him."
I frowned. "Hand-carved?"
Luca nodded. "Every detail on that gun? Personal. It's balanced just for him. If you ever get your hands on it, you'll see."
Alex smirked. "Or, you could just ask him to make one for you." He waggled his eyebrows. "Who knows? Maybe he'd personally carve your initials into it."
I scoffed, but my fingers twitched slightly against the grip of my own gun.
Would he?
I pushed the thought away.
"Enough talk," I muttered. "Let's see if I can actually hit something."
Alex grinned. "That's the spirit."
Luca nodded toward the target. "Take aim. Focus. Then shoot."
I inhaled deeply, squared my shoulders, and raised the gun.
The moment my finger squeezed the trigger, the shot echoed through the air, splitting the silence.
And for the first time in a long time...
I felt powerful.
Shot after shot, I adjusted, learned, improved.
Luca and Alex didn't go easy on me. They corrected me when I messed up, tested me with rapid reload drills, and even had me try different stances to see what worked best.
