Days passed, and life began to settle into a comfortable rhythm. Jungkook was still busy with his work, but he made it a point to spend more time with me when he could. It felt nice—being cared for, being seen.

But deep down, I couldn't stop thinking about Jimin. I was still reeling from the revelation that he was part of Jungkook's mafia. How had he managed to keep something like that hidden from me for so long?

One afternoon, as I lounged on the couch, flipping through a book, the doorbell rang. Julia opened the door, and my heart leaped when I heard that familiar voice.

"Y/N! Where are you, brat?"

I set the book aside and hurried to the entrance. Standing there, looking smug as ever, was Jimin. But now, knowing he was part of the mafia added a new layer to the person I thought I knew inside out.

"Jimin!" I exclaimed, a mix of excitement and exasperation in my voice.

"Hey, munchkin!" he said, pulling me into a hug. "You look better. Jungkook told me you were sick."

After stepping back, I folded my arms, my playful smile fading. "I'm better now, but we need to talk. You've got some explaining to do!"

He chuckled, clearly amused. "Ah, here it comes."

"Why didn't you tell me you were in the mafia? And don't even say I didn't ask!"

Jimin hesitated, scratching the back of his neck. "I wasn't in the mafia back then. I took a break, Y/N. I was dating Isla at the time, and I wanted a normal life. Or at least as normal as it could get."

My brows furrowed. "Okay, fine. But why didn't you say something at my wedding? You knew Jungkook was part of it. You knew my family revealed their ties. Why stay quiet then?"

His face softened, guilt flashing in his eyes. "Because... you didn't ask, and I thought you had enough on your plate."

I narrowed my eyes. "That's a weak excuse, Park Jimin. You should've told me anyway."

He sighed. "You're right, and I'm sorry. I didn't handle it well."

A moment of silence stretched between us before I spoke again. "Why did you and Isla break up, anyway?"

His shoulders sagged as the question hit him. "Because she couldn't handle it—my connection to the mafia. She tried, but the danger, the unpredictability... it scared her. And I couldn't leave it behind for good. It's part of who I am."

I nodded, the anger in me softening as I saw the sadness flicker across his face.

Just then, Jungkook walked into the room, his gaze immediately landing on us. His expression darkened slightly as he saw Jimin standing so close to me.

"Jimin," Jungkook said, his tone neutral but his eyes giving away his displeasure. "Didn't expect to see you here."

"Boss," Jimin replied with a cheeky grin, clearly unfazed. "Thought I'd check on Y/N. You know, make sure she's doing okay."

"I'm fine," I said quickly, sensing the tension in the room.

Jimin turned back to me, his grin widening. "So, tell me, munchkin. How's life with him?" He jerked his thumb toward Jungkook, clearly enjoying himself.

"Jimin," I groaned, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.

"What?" he said innocently. "I'm just curious."
