I hadn't stepped out of the guest room all day. No food. Just silence and the haunting echo of everything I'd done.

When night fell, I heard voices downstairs—sharp, angry. One of them was Jungkook's father. I moved quietly, my heart in my throat, and crept down the hall.

They were already in the middle of an argument.

"You think I didn't see this coming?" Jeon Eun-Myeong barked.

"You made your choices," Jungkook snapped. "And now we're paying for all of them."

I stepped into view. "You think you can just walk in here like nothing's wrong?" My voice cut through the tension. "You're just as much to blame as Jungkook."

His eyes narrowed. "You don't understand the world we live in, little girl."

"Don't call me that!" I shouted. "You think I'm afraid of you? You're just a coward hiding behind your son's legacy."

But then—

Boom.

The front doors burst open.

A wave of men flooded in, guns raised. Black masks. Military-grade precision.

Zalgo.

He stepped in calmly, his presence suffocating. His eyes gleamed with something cold and cruel.

"Get down!" Jungkook yelled, shoving me behind the sofa as bullets rained. Chaos

The living room turned into a warzone.

Gunfire tore through the air. Glass shattered. Screams echoed.

Jungkook threw himself in front of me, his body shielding mine as the bullets tore through the room. His father, Jeon Eun-Myeong, fired back, taking down two men. But we were outnumbered. Outgunned.

In seconds, the Jeon guards were wiped out. And then—

"Enough!" Zalgo's voice rang through the smoke. His men held us at gunpoint, forcing Jungkook, his father, and me to our knees.

He stepped forward, dressed in black, untouched by the chaos. Calm. Cruel.

Zalgo's twisted smile stretched as he turned to Jungkook, casually circling like a vulture.
"And guess what, Jungkook?" he said, his tone mocking. "Your precious wife—she betrayed you."

Jungkook's eyes flicked to mine.

Blood on his face. Bruises on his jaw. But it was his expression that destroyed me.

Disbelief. Hurt. Shattered.

"No..." he breathed. "You're lying."

"She helped bring down your empire," Zalgo continued, voice dripping venom. "Not just once. Repeatedly. She came to me. Played the perfect little mole. Didn't you, Areum?"

That name stopped everything.

Jungkook blinked. "What... did you just call her?"

Before I could explain, before I could even breathe—

Bang.

A single gunshot echoed.

I screamed.

Jeon Eun-Myeong collapsed beside us, blood blooming from his chest. And then—

Bang.

Bang.

Two more. A bullet to the head. And another.
