The moment I stepped into the house, I felt it.
The rage. The betrayal. The unbearable truth pressing against my chest like a boulder.
I had held it together for too long—through the funeral, through the suffocating car ride with Jungkook. But now, standing in the place where I had grown up, where my father had once lived, it consumed me.
Before I could stop myself, I turned sharply and marched toward Jungkook. He had barely stepped inside, his gaze unreadable, but I didn't care.
I needed answers.
"What happened to my father?" I demanded, my voice trembling with desperation.
Jungkook's expression shifted, something flickering in his eyes before vanishing just as quickly. "He died on a mission, Y/N."
"Tell the truth, Jungkook!" The words erupted from me like a dam breaking.
A guard moved to step in, but I didn't hesitate. In a wild surge of anger, I reached for the gun at his holster, pulling it free before anyone could react. My hands shook as I aimed it directly at Jungkook.
"Tell. The. Truth."
Silence crashed over the room like a wave.
The guards stiffened, their bodies coiled like springs, waiting for the command to strike.
But Jungkook didn't flinch.
His voice was calm, deadly. "If you move a step toward her, I'll have your corpses sent home."
Fear washed over the guards. They hesitated, exchanging wary glances before stepping back.
Jungkook finally turned his full attention to me, his brow furrowed in frustration. "What is your fucking problem, Y/N?"
Tears burned my eyes, my heart breaking with every word. "I know you killed my dad, Jungkook. Why did you do this to me?"
Something dark flashed across his face. His jaw clenched, and when he spoke, his voice was ice. "He betrayed us, Y/N. What the fuck do you expect me to do? He was a disloyal man."
"Stop talking about him like that!" I cried, my voice raw with emotion. "Even if he betrayed you, he was my father! Did you even think about that? How can I ever trust you?"
Jungkook's face hardened into an impenetrable mask. "I don't care who the fuck he was. I punish those who disobey me. Your so-called father didn't even take care of you."
My pulse roared in my ears. "He was my father, Jungkook! You don't get to decide how I feel about him!"
Jungkook exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "Move on, Y/N."
I let out a bitter laugh, the fury in my veins turning into something sharper. "Move on?" My voice trembled with rage. "Have you moved on from your mother's death?"
The air in the room shifted.
Jungkook went utterly still.
I stepped closer, my voice unwavering. "You're still haunted by it. You still wake up drowning in that pain. But you want me to let this go?"
The temperature in the room dropped.
Before I could react, Jungkook lunged forward.
His hand shot out, yanking the gun from my grasp with ease. He didn't even have to try—his grip was iron, his presence suffocating.
