CINDYS POVEllie began to slowly walk towards me and leaned against the wall.
"I gotta say I'm surprised" She commented"Huh??" I was genuinely confused
"Didn't take you for the player type, Solace." She said. Her expression shifted from dark to now smug and sarcastic. Solace??? was this her new nickname for me or something, since when.
"What on earth are you talking about Ellie-" I was interrupted with her mocking tone.
"You got multiple girlfriends now, huh? I didn't realise you were so... popular" Her gaze lingered on me, not with admiration but with a challenge.
I glanced up, catching the subtle bite in her words. Her attempt at casual curiosity was masked by an undertone of something more—jealousy, perhaps."First of all, it's not what you think. Dina is just a friend and she's just been helping me with an assignment, it's purely platonic" I said trying to set the record straight.
"Hmmm right... and what about your true love back home?" Her voice was low and a smirk tugged at the side of her lip
I didn't even respond as to who the fuck she was talking about? Maybe she thought me and my ex are still together? My expression was puzzled.
"Kat, she misses you doesn't she?" She let out a forced half-laugh. Her demeanour seemed like a shield, guarding her from the vulnerability of why she was interrogating me in the first place. We are just friends... right?
Her name almost made me wince. I hadn't heard her name in a long time.
"How did you-"
"I seen her name on your phone. Are you two still together or what's the deal?" She interrupted.
"You're eager to know" I joked. Ellie's eyes were still fixed on me waiting for a proper answer.
A moment of silence goes by and I stand up to turn my bedside lamp on as I felt awkward. Why was she even looking at my phone in the first place? The fact she said it shamelessly too is wild.
"No, She's blocked on everything except for her number" I revealed, hoping to dispel the tension between us. But Ellie's eyes held a challenge, as if daring me to offer a deeper explanation while pretending that she didn't care at all.
Ellie tilted her head slightly, her smirk widening into something almost playful. "I see... good," she said, her voice smooth. The way she said it, with that nonchalant shrug and gleam in her eye, left me feeling intrigued.
"Good? What's it to you?" I asked playfully
"Oh, nothing," she replied, her smirk remained
"Oh really? nothing?" I questioned as she started to slowly walk towards me.
She was intentionally closing the distance between us. Her gaze remained fixed on mine, unwavering and intense, as if she were peering straight into my thoughts. "Hmm, just curious, that's all," she murmured, whilst down biting her bottom lip, her voice a silky whisper that made my cheeks flush. Her eyes, so close now, seemed to pull me in with their intensity, making it hard to think clearly.
"What are you doing?" I said quietly being unable to hide my smile. Her breath was warm against my skin and the world outside this moment felt distant and irrelevant. Ellie's smirk softened into a look of amused curiosity, as though she were savouring the effect she had on me, and for a moment, all I could do was stand there.
She gently cupped my chin with her fingers, tilting it upwards to meet her gaze as she whispered, her voice a low, sensual murmur, "What are you doing?"
The question, combined with the intense focus of her eyes, made me feel exposed and flustered. I could hardly manage a coherent thought as her gaze roamed from my eyes to my lips and back again.
Then Ellie pulled away, her smirk widening into a satisfied grin. Her eyes danced with satisfaction, leaving me breathless and flustered, caught in the wake of her teasing, she observed the effect she had on me. She twirled a loose strand of hair around her finger, as if the moment we just shared never happened.
Ellie sat on the edge of her bed, a slight blush dusting her cheeks. She cleared her throat and asked "So.. uh are you gonna go to that party Dina mentioned?"
"I've got nothing else to do, plussss free drinks" I replied avoiding eye contact as I was still recovering from how flustered I was minutes ago. I slumped myself onto my bed facing her. Did she want me to go for the party, or was she hoping I'd say something that would pull us back to the moment we almost crossed that line?
ELLIES POV
As Cindy sat down I couldn't help but look at her figure. Her clothes clung to her body in all of my favourite parts. Her gold necklace hung perfectly between her cleavage that was showing ever so slightly. I crave her but I cant fuck it up like I do with everyone else.
"Well if you're up for it, wanna go to that party with me?" I asked, forcing a casual tone. "I can drive us there." It was a risk asking, she could always reject me but the look on her face said something different.
"Um yeah that'd be cool thank you" Cindy said, A smile breaking across her face.
"Its a date" I joked (not really)
"Sure is" She giggled, pulling out her phone to text.
We made our plans; My duty was to get a 40 bag of weed tomorrow afternoon.

The next day I slept till noon. I made my way to the parking lot located close to the dorms. I was meeting Cameron who was a friend but also the designated dealer on campus. He was super smart and studying law which always made me confused why he has gone down the route of dealing. We made small talk and made the exchange. Saturdays were always peaceful around campus, I felt the crisp autumn air as i walked back to the room.
Pushing the door open, I was greeted by the sight of my roommate in front of the mirror, her fingers carefully applying eyeliner. I couldn't help but admire the way the light caught her hair, the way her lips curled slightly as she concentrated. She turned slightly, catching my gaze. In her brown eyes, I saw a flicker of something unspoken, and I wondered if she could sense the depth of my feelings.
