"You really going let her put you in a pink suit for a gala?" Jazmyn couldn't help but ask Ezekiel who had showed up earlier than he was supposed to. He looked at himself in the mirror and Jazmyn standing behind him.
"I would let her put me in anything." He shrugged. "She got good taste. This shit is fire." He smirked as he let his hand rub over his waves. Jazmyn laughed shaking her head.
"She told me you were delusional. Mm. My sis might be right." She joked.
Ezekiel laughed. "That's how it be sometimes sis." He said in a girly voice making them both laugh. "I promise what you expecting at this gala, ain't going be it." He warned. "Shit your ass overdressed for real." He rubbed his hands together. "I'm good." Jazmyn waved him off.
But as he walked in the middle of her, Azul, Naomi, and her baby sister Kendra she realized that her best friend had over done their outfits. Jazmyn watched as everyone's eyes fell onto them. A smirk sat on Ezekiel's face as he held on to Jazmyn and Azul's hands. They held the other women's hands.
"After you ladies." He spoke holding out their hands. Jazmyn looked around at all the melanin inside of the building. She wasn't sure who the DJ was but when Tee Grizzley filled her ears, she realized they was in another world. This gala wasn't nothing like what she was expecting, and she couldn't even pretend to not have been warned.
"Hold on cause this my song." Jazmyn spoke.
"What you know about Grizzley?" Ezekiel asked her letting go Azul's hand. "Come on lets dance." He placed his hand on her upper back walking her towards where he could see Messiah with a blunt hanging between his lips.
"Wassup nigga?" He shouted over the music.
"Whats the word?" Messiah responded back. "Akbar pissed nigga. Four at once."
"It ain't like that. Meet Jazmyn." Ezekiel spoke turning his cousin's attention to the woman he wanted to know about. Messiah looked her over. He too had felt some type of familiarity to the woman. Jazmyn laughed as she could tell the two cousins were having a conversation without words.
