Naomi plopped down on the couch beside Messiah. He looked her over before looking back to the tv. Gloria and Akbar had a long talk with her, Azul and Jazmyn about what was going on. They now had a full run down of everything.
Naomi sat thinking of everything Akbar had shared with them tonight. From the men using their middle names, Kandace being free and fucking with Will, to being considered as apart of their family. Even if she wasn't with Messiah.
Everybody had been making it their business to tell her that Messiah liked her. Except him. He just would chill, be all over her. But he wasn't making any hints of wanting anything more than what she was giving. Naomi couldn't remember a time she took a nigga serious.
She looked over the side of Messiah's face. A cloud of smoke surrounded him. The second cloud surrounded Ezekiel who was kicked out of the hospital once Azul explained what was said from her ex while Ezekiel was there.
Naomi realized that Akbar and Gloria didn't play with their boys. She looked to the tv trying to get comfortable but how could she? She had gotten mixed into a cartel. They seen her as family.
Naomi had never had someone tell her she was family this much in one year. It was sending her on a mental trip. She didn't know if the people around her took family as serious as she did. But as she looked between the two men she hoped they did.
Life had been dull for her. The only color coming in from her dating life and that wasn't the best. It was average as hell. She had some fun, but that was it. There was never anything serious. Nani was always just the homie.
That kept her safe, but lately she had been yearning for more. She just didn't trust that someone could bring her that. Nani sighed making Messiah look at her. "You straight?"
"Yeah." She spoke softly as she pulled her legs up on the couch. Nani relaxed as she got into the movie Messiah and Ezekiel was watching.
"Who you go on a date with?" Messiah spoke making Ezekiel choke. He laughed when he got himself together.
"This nigga shit itching." Ezekiel laughed shaking his head. "I'm going let yall talk." He rose to his feet before disappearing out of the living room.
"Bro get from behind the wall." Messiah spoke. Ezekiel laughed as he came and plopped back down on the couch. Messiah looked back to Naomi. She was looking at the tv. "You ain't hear me?"
Naomi looked at him. "I heard you." He stared at her. She laughed. "Leave me alone Messiah."
"That's not answering my question." He looked her over. "Don't make me ask you again."
Naomi waved him off. "Boy please."
"Nigga serious as hell sis." Ezekiel spoke placing his hands behind his head. Naomi looked over to Messiah who was still staring at her.
"It wasn't a date. I went to lunch with my friend."
"Your friend or your homie?"
"Messiah cut it out." She laughed. But he didn't, nor did he smile. His face scrunched up before he looked away from her.
