Andre looked left and then right before he stepped into the nursing home in front of him. A sigh left his lips as the familiar smell of piss filled his nostrils. He hated that his mother was stuck in this place. There was nothing he could do to take her away.
The nurse at the front station used her long acrylic nail to scratch her head as she watched him walk towards her. "Hey Andre. You ain't been around in a couple days. You know your mother needs to see you daily." She reminded him.
"Yeah I know. How she been doing?"
"Honestly, it's hard to tell when you don't show up Andre. After you visit she talks about her son all day and night. Without you here she hasn't really had much to say." Katrina rose to her feet. Andre didn't even hide him looking at her round ass as she turned around to grab the sign in sheet.
"I ain't going keep telling you about them eyes." She warned setting down the clipboard in front of her.
"Your wife know who she married." He waved her off as he signed his name on the sheet. Andre pushed his hands into the pocket of his hoodie turning away from the desk. He couldn't wait to see his mother, but he wasn't sure she would be in a good space today.
Andre walked down the long hall before stopping at her door. He looked it over and knocked twice. After a few minutes, his mother opened her door. She looked him over. "Where the hell have you been!? I called your ass." She spat grabbing his arm and pulling him inside.
"My fault, I couldn't get away." Andre explained.
"Nigga ain't nobody stupid. I know you was over there with that bitch Patricia." She scoffed. "How is yall son doing?" His mother asked making him frown. She wasn't in a good space today. He rubbed his hands together.
"Mom." He spoke making her turn her head. She looked him over and then rolled her eyes.
"I'm not having no damn baby. What I look like? I'm too fine for all of that. Better go ask Patricia to give you another damn kid." She waved him off. Andre moved over to the chair in the corner of the room. He sat down and watched as his mom packed a bag.
"Where you going?"
"Me and the girls going go take us a trip. We tired of being cooped up. And before you start talking about how I gotta stay here I don't want to hear that shit Andre."
"I wish you could leave mom."
Patricia lifted her head and looked into his eyes. A smile formed on her face. "Andre baby when did you get here? Did you see your no good daddy? He was just here."
"Yeah ma, I seen him before he left. How you doing?" He asked folding his arms. His mom looked at the bag on the bed and frowned. She looked up to him.
"Andre baby, you know I can't leave here." She sighed. "I know you don't like me being here. But we don't need me losing it again." She picked up the bag and took it back into the closet. Andre wasn't sure who was coming out of the closet.
