Naomi smiled at the sound of a little girl's voice. She could hear her singing along to Gracie's Corner. Naomi said a silent thank you to the man above that she wouldn't have to deal with a child stuck in the Cocomelon stages.
Her eyes met with the mirror across from her. She touched her hair making sure it was still smooth. Azul had went above and beyond styling her for this interview. Although she was a private teacher. Naomi loved to show the parents she was going to come as she was.
That would never affect her skills with children. Proof of that was the little girl who came bouncing from where she guessed the living room was. "Hey don't run." Naomi spoke making her stop. She turned to face her and smiled.
"Who are you?" The little girl asked moving closer. Naomi looked her over. A frown wanted to form on her face as she looked over the little girl who shared the same face as her father.
"My name is Naomi, but all my friends call me Nani."
"Nani." The little girl repeated. "I like that name." She smiled before looking her over. "Your pretty."
Naomi laughed. "Thank you, so are you little one. What's your name?"
"Shanel. My daddy calls me Shay shay." She smiled showing off missing teeth. "Hi daddy." She spoke making Naomi's head turn. Her stomach filled with knots as Messiah looked her over. His eyes moved over to his daughter.
"What you doing out here?" He asked his daughter. "I thought your ma told you to go clean up your room." Nani wanted to slide to the floor. All the good looking niggas was always fucking with they baby mother. She quickly crossed Messiah off her list of possibilities. She even was ready to call the interview a wrap.
"I was meeting Miss Nani. I like her daddy."
"I bet you do. Go clean up kid." He laughed as he watched her walk away. She begin to sing another Gracie's corner song making Naomi laugh. Messiah folded his arms making her look up at him.
"I know bro stalking your sis and shit but ugh, yeah naw this not going work."
"Nigga ain't nobody stalking you. I'm here to interview to be a teacher."
"Messiah." A woman spoke wheeling herself into the room. "Oh. Nobody told us you were here. Hey. I'm Meleah, this big headed man is my daughter's father. Has she met Shanel yet?"
"Yeah she was out here talking to her." Messiah looked down at the woman. "I'm about to be out." He spoke holding his hand out. Naomi watched as they did a handshake.
"Be careful out there."
"Always." He spoke back before looking to Naomi. "You know this is a in house position right?"
"Don't be trying to make her want to say no Messiah. Your daughter needs to get ready for school. She's not staying here with me forever."
"Shit you ain't even going be here too much longer." He joked making them both laugh. "Naomi can stay if she want." He spoke making Nani look at the smirk on his face.
