Noah
Who the fuck is Jackson?
I glance at her for what seems like the fiftieth time and bite back a scoff.
We were supposed to be watching a movie right now, but she still seems to be laughing about something on the phone with Jackson.
Who even has a name which is a last name?
I don't even know the dude, but all I know is that Ariella finds him fucking hilarious based on the way she's been laughing at everything he says.
He's not even funny, because whatever he says is so fucking boring since he's still on speaker phone and I can hear everything.
She can finish watch the movie with Jackson for all I care.
I look up from my phone to see her still talking to him from the corner of my eye.
Her cheeks are tinted in a rosy colour as she listens to that dude speak and it's only then I realize that she's blushing.
I have a sudden urge to punch Jackson in the face.
"So yeah, I just wanted to let you know that I'm moving to your school next week and I hope I'll see you there." Jackson says.
"Yeah, me too. I'll give you a tour if you really need one." Ella says teasingly.
"I might," I can hear the smile in his voice and it makes me grit my teeth.
"Alright, see you Riri."
The nickname makes me grimace.
Riri?
That is the most unoriginal nickname I've ever heard.
"Okay, bye Jackson."
She cuts the call and only then does she realize that the movie is over.
Remorse fills her expression.
"Oh no, the movie is over, I am so sorry Noah, I got so caught up in the call with Jackson that-"
I cut her off.
"It's fine, I was going to sleep anyways." I say blankly.
"Wha- but we can rewind it to where we stopped," She continues.
I lift the comforter over me, "I'm tired."
"But you said we would-"
"Ariella, I'm tired." I grit out.
Hurt? Flashes through her eyes but she quickly blinks it away leaving me wondering if I imagined it.
It kicks me in the fucking gut, either way.
"Oh uh okay," She stands up from the bed and hooks her thumb over her shoulder, "So I'll um go. Good night, Noah." She gives me a forced smile, which makes my chest tighten.
When the door closes with a click after she left, I finally let out a exhale and run a hand through my hair.
Why the hell did I do that?
I ignore that internal question and force myself to go to sleep.
I really wanted to finish that stupid movie with her.
~~~
Is she mad at me?
Was the first thought that came to mind after her not coming out of the room to eat breakfast. Mom and dad left early for work today so it was just Isabella and I at the table.
