"Riri!" I hear a familiar voice as I'm about to sit at our table in the cafeteria with Thea.

I turn to see Jackson grinning at me. Before I have time to think about my actions I run to him to give him a bear hug which he returns immediately.

"I missed you." He ruffles my hair as I pull away.

Like miss me-miss me or miss me?

"I missed you too." I say genuinely.

Even though I completely forgot he was supposed to come to this school yesterday.

I mean but he didn't. Come to school yesterday I mean.

"Weren't you supposed to be here yesterday?"

He laughs, and rakes his hand through his hair, "Yeahh, I didn't feel like it."

I roll my eyes, "Wow."

"Lemme see your schedule to check if we have any classes together."

He shows it to me and I notice that we only have phys-ed together.

It had to be the thing I'm not good at. Now I'm going to embarrass myself in front of him like falling flat on my face.

"We only have P. E together."

He frowns and looks disappointed.

Is he disappointed because we have a class together and he doesn't want me to be with him or because he wanted more classes together with me?

He nudges me, "You can't just ditch me like this, Riri."

Huh. I guess it was the former.

I squeal mentally.

I don't know why I expected the latter because Jackson is a really sweet guy. We became friends from a seating plan a teacher made and had a whole lot of fun in that class.

I'm not even being biased just because I might have a teensy bit of a crush on him.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

How do you know if you had a crush on a person or not?

I laugh, "It's not my fault, but at least we'll see each other at our next P. E period."

I am kind of dreading it.

Also, how cool is it that I sound so cool and collected in front of him?

I deserve a high five.

"Yo, Jackson! Coach is calling for all the new recruits, let's go." Somebody calls.

"I'm trying out for the soccer team since someone left so wish me luck."

"You don't need it, but good luck, I guess."
