Chapter 29: Unraveling Secrets
Queen Helena's eyes blazed with fury as she confronted Andrew.
"What do you want from the Mash children, mere innocents of only 8 years?" she demanded. "You destroyed their family, their legacy. What more do you seek?"
Andrew shifted uncomfortably, avoiding his mother's gaze.
"I...I want to ensure their loyalty," he stammered.
Queen Helena's voice rose. "Loyalty? You speak of loyalty after what you did to Lily? You took her innocence, used her, and discarded her like trash. And now, you'd claim her children, born of a union that's impossible, given their age."
Venus, standing nearby, crumbled inwardly. Her own secret threatened to surface.
"Unless," Queen Helena's voice dripped with venom, "they belong to Leslie, Lily's brother. Is that the truth, Andrew? Did you manipulate Lily into concealing her brother's children?"
Venus's eyes widened, her composure shattered. Her own relationship with Leslie, hidden for so long, now teetered on the brink of exposure.
"No," Andrew protested, but Queen Helena's gaze pierced through his defenses.
"Tell me, Andrew, what do you know of Leslie's involvement?" she pressed.
Andrew's silence spoke volumes.
Queen Helena's eyes narrowed. "I see. You've entangled yourself in a web of deceit, Andrew. And now, you'll face the consequences."
Venus's secret trembled on the edge of revelation, threatening to destroy the fragile balance of power within the kingdom.
The fate of the Mash children, Lily, and the kingdom hung precariously, as Queen Helena's outrage and Venus's hidden truth threatened to upend the throne.
