This was requested by ShaeRobyn and I actually really like this one, so I hope you all feel the same.
Enjoy!

Mom had Travis over today. We'd all had dinner together, laughed at each others jokes, and paid close attention to each others stories. I'm glad she has Travis now. He treats her well, and j can see how happy he makes her.

It's also nice to have someone like him in my life again. After mom and Joe broke up, I didn't know how long it would be until someone that nice would come along again.

I mean, the last one of her boyfriends that I really felt close with was apart from Joe was Harry, and that didn't really last too long.

Mom always said I got along great with Taylor, but that was when I was a baby. Me and mom do go out for lunch with him and his wife every once in a while, though.

I'm happy Travis came along when he did. My mom wasn't herself for a while, but he came into her life she got her spark back. She became herself again.

Days like today are some of my favourites. All three of us just talking and laughing, spending quality time together, like a family.

And then they left.

They decided to go out and meet some friends for drinks, leaving me home alone.

I'm not compling that I have time to myself, but it would be nice to have more than cats as company.

They've been gone for three hours already, and I have no clue when they'll be back, so for now, I'll have to stick to couch rotting with Benji.

I'm currently rewatching Only Murders In The Building because I'm such a supportive niece and need to catch up for the new season. Benji has been my source of company for the night, with Meredith and Dibbles occasionally passing through the room.

I know it's not good to couch rot, and trust me, I don't do it too often, but I've tried everything, and I mean everything to keep myself entertained, but nothing has worked.

I tried to go for a walk, but as soon as I stepped outside, it started pouring rain.

I tried baking cookies, but I got distracted by a lizard outside, and they burnt beyond recognition.

I tried reading, but I couldn't get into the book.

And lastly, I tried having a one person dance party. There's a reason why they don't exist.

So now, I'm down to my last resort. We'll, not quite. My last resort is going to bed, and honestly, it's looking like a better option than doing this for another few hours.

I grab the remote, switching off the TV. I scoop up Benji in my arms, heading upstairs and into my room.

I go about my nightly routine, walking between my room and my bathroom, what feels like a million times, before I finally climb under the covers and settle in bed.

Turns out the other two cats and been staying in my bed for the last few hours because when I move one of my pillows out of the way, they come into view, cuddled up together. Benji climbs up beside me, settling on my chest.

I must've fallen asleep at some point, as I'm woken up by the front door slamming shut and the sound of unintelligible voices from the front entrance.

I shoot up in panic, thinking someone had broken in. But then, I hear my mom drunkenly giggling as she walks up the stairs.
