∆ Night Two: The Pin ∆

“All done!” you exclaimed, stepping back from the breaker box, momentarily forgetting that Lolbit was right behind you. In your excitement, you bumped into him.

Before you could react, his hands instinctively wrapped around your waist, steadying both of you. The room suddenly felt a lot warmer.

Your face flushed as heat radiated from where his hands rested, sending electric tingles through your skin.

“Watch it, you dunce,” he growled, pulling away abruptly, leaving a strange coldness where his touch had been.

“You're the one who was standing too close to me!” you shot back, crossing your arms.

“Yeah, I had to make sure you weren't about to electrocute yourself again,” Lolbit replied with a smirk, folding his arms as he looked down at you.

“Me?! You're the one who electrocuted me!”

“Psh, lies,” he scoffed, dismissing your accusation with a wave of his hand. “Anyway, let's get out of here. I hate this room.”

You rolled your eyes as he turned toward the door, his usual playful tone masking whatever had happened. With a sigh, you followed, hands slipping into your pockets.

Wait—oh no—

The pin you had gotten for Lolbit was no longer in your pocket.

“Fuck!” you hissed just as lolbit reached for the doorknob.

He turned, raising an eyebrow. “What?”

Frantically, you scanned the floor, moving back to where you had been sitting. Your eyes darted across the ground.

“What are you doing now?” Lolbit asked, irritation clear in his voice.

“I lost something! It was in my pocket, and now it's not,” you groaned, crouching to search the poorly lit room.

A sudden realization struck you like a punch in the gut. The pin might have fallen out back in Ballora's room. Your stomach twisted. Please don't let it be in there. You'd never find it.

“What is it you lost?” Lolbit asked, leaning against the door with a raised brow. His gaze briefly flickered toward the locked room before landing back on you.

“Uh…” you hesitated. You didn't want to spoil the surprise but needed his help. “It's… a pin,” you said vaguely.

“A pin?” Lolbit echoed, mild confusion in his tone. “Of all things to freak out about, you're panicking over a pin?”

“It's important, okay?” you sighed, still scanning the floor.

Lolbit let out an exaggerated sigh, pushing off the door with a roll of his eyes. “Fine. I'll help. But if we're going to dig around on this disgusting floor, you owe me.”

You shot him a quick glance, relief washing over you, though his comment didn't surprise you. “Owe you? It's just a pin.”

“I don't care what it is.” He crouched next to you, scanning the floor with clear disinterest. “If I'm putting effort into this, I expect some sort of payment.”

“Payment?” You snorted at the absurdity.

Lolbits smirk widened as his flickering eyes glanced your way. “Oh, I'll think of something.”

You rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the fact that he was helping you find his own surprise. But the longer you searched, the more helpless it felt. The thought of going back into Ballora's room to find it made your stomach churn.
