"I'm still searching for answers, for a way to make sense of what happened. The cherry blossoms are gone, and the hyacinths are blooming in their place. It's like the world is moving on, but I'm stuck in the past. I want to be like the hyacinths, unbroken and unafraid, but it's hard when all I can think about is what we had, and what we've lost."

A week prior, Heeseung's office was a flurry of activity, with papers and files scattered across his desk. He was in the midst of a critical business deal, and every minute counted. As the evening drew to a close, Heeseung felt a sudden wave of dizziness wash over him. The sky outside was pitch black, just like that fateful night, and he stumbled slightly as he made his way to the parking lot.
The automatic glass door slid open with a hiss, and Heeseung almost fell through it, his exhaustion catching up with him. He had been pushing himself too hard, and it was taking a toll on his body. As he drove home, his mind began to wander, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that Nina was with him. He saw her in the passenger seat, her smile radiant in the dim light of the car. Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes, and he blinked them back, trying to focus on the road.
When he arrived home, he was greeted by the warm glow of the living room lights. Rowoon was sitting on the couch, his nanny reading him a storybook. As soon as Rowoon saw his father, he jumped off the couch and hurled himself at Heeseung's legs, wrapping his small arms around his waist.
"Dada!" Rowoon exclaimed, looking up at Heeseung with shining eyes.
Heeseung's fatigue seemed to melt away as he scooped up Rowoon, holding him close. "Hey, kiddo," he whispered, his voice husky with emotion. "I'm home."
Rowoon chattered excitedly about his day, and Heeseung listened intently, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. For a moment, he forgot about his troubles, forgot about Nina, and forgot about the weight of his responsibilities.
As they hugged, Heeseung felt a sense of gratitude towards Rowoon. This little boy was his reason for living, his sunshine in the darkest of times. Heeseung knew that he had to be strong for Rowoon, no matter what.
"I'm sorry I'm late, kiddo," Heeseung said, setting Rowoon down. "Dada had a long day at work."
Rowoon looked up at him, his eyes sparkling with understanding. "It's okay, Dada. I know you're tired. But I'm happy you're home."
Heeseung's heart swelled with love as he looked at Rowoon. This little boy was his everything, and he would do anything to protect him.
As they spent the evening together, Heeseung's hallucinations of Nina began to fade away, replaced by the warmth and love of his son. For now, he could forget about his sorrows and just be present in the moment, surrounded by the people he loved.
Currently, it was bedtime for the Father-Son Duo and as of regular, Heeseung took his pills for insomnia. As the night wore on, Heeseung's eyelids grew heavy, the sleeping pills taking effect. Rowoon slept soundly beside him, clutching his beloved plushie tightly. Heeseung's mind began to wander, and he felt Nina's presence beside him. He imagined her whispering sweet nothings in his ear, her gentle fingers caressing his cheeks. The sensation was so real that Heeseung's heart ached with longing.
