[Thabo's POV]
The day of the surprise arrived. My nerves were on edge, but excitement dominated.
Melo, Ntsika, and Liyanda helped set up the picturesque lake spot. Soft music played, and a delicious spread of food awaited.
"Amanhle will love this," Melo assured me.
Ntsika nodded.
"You've outdone yourself, Thabo."
Liyanda smiled.
"Time to bring in the special guest."
I texted Amanhle, asking her to meet me at the lake.
"Amanhle's on her way," I announced.
My friends wished me luck and left as I took a deep breath.
Amanhle arrived, looking stunning in a yellow sundress. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene.
"Thabo... what's all this?" she asked, voice trembling.
I approached her, my heart pounding.
"I wanted to do something special for you," I said, taking her hand. "Just because. Because you deserve it. Because... I care about you, Amanhle."
Amanhle's eyes locked onto mine.
"Thabo..."
Her voice trailed off, but her eyes spoke volumes.
Amanhle's face lit up with a radiant smile.
"I care about you too, Thabo."
My heart soared.
[Amanhle's POV]
I pulled up to the lake, curiosity getting the better of me. Thabo's text had been cryptic, but his smiley face had hinted at something special.
As I stepped out of the car, I spotted Thabo standing alone by the lake. The setting sun cast a warm glow, and soft music drifted through the air.
Thabo's eyes locked onto mine, and he smiled.
"Hey," he said, walking toward me.
I smiled back, feeling a flutter in my chest.
Thabo took my hand, leading me to the lakeside.
"I wanted to do something special for you," he said, his voice low and sincere. "Just because. Because you deserve it. Because... I care about you, Amanhle."
My heart skipped a beat. No one had ever gone to such lengths for me.
I searched Thabo's eyes, seeing genuine affection.
"I care about you too, Thabo," I replied, my voice trembling.
Thabo's face lit up, and he smiled.
We stood there, hands entwined, watching the sunset.
The silence was comfortable, filled with unspoken emotions.
I felt safe with Thabo, like he'd protect me from the world.
His thumb caressed my hand, sending shivers down my spine.
"I'm glad you like it," Thabo said, nodding toward the setup.
"It's beautiful," I replied. "But it's not just the setup, Thabo. It's... you."
Thabo's eyes sparkled.
"Amanhle..." he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
[Thabo's POV]
Amanhle's words struck my heart. No one had ever made me feel so seen.
